Near 2007, mancity's average attendance was around 42000. Now their attendances in the PL are near 53000 almost near their capacity. Their stadium does look full almost every game.
Yes, that’s right actually. Premier league attendance has always been strong. I was going off their historic champions league attendances which were low. They’ve improved this season. Only 47000 against Liverpool at home though which is strange.

Anyway, the key point was about posters welcoming in dirty money and drawing ridiculous false equivalences between apple or google and Saudi Arabia or Abramovic. As though the huge political power of a country or oligarch could morally compare with a phone company.

Would appreciate if someone could let me know what % of Joe Lewis's money (that we've seen very little fucking of) is clean and what % is dirty so I can take the most virtuous moral stance.

Also Google 'Joe Lewis Patagonia' and maybe translate a few things to English while you're at it.
Yes and Joe Lewis isn’t using THFC to launder the reputation of him myself or his assets. Nor does he wield much political power.

We welcomed in dirty money when we sold Kyle Walker to City. The club owners don't care about morality whatsoever, they're fucking ultra capitalists who would screw over their own grannies for a quick buck.

This moral highground our fans think we have is laughable. We'd have fucked over the football pyramid for the Super League in the heartbeat. We're a club designed to milk every bit of money it possibly can out of the fanbase.

That's modern football. If you have very strong feelings about it I'd recommend supporting a club lower in the pyramid which isn't touched by the dirty money. I'd respect that decision a lot more than the eyerolling 'we are doing it the right way!' moral highgrounding our fans engage in.

Don’t think we “welcomed” dirty money by selling Walker. Don’t think we had a choice as he wanted to go. We could have kept him until contract end and lost him for a free, but that wouldn’t have made sense. Obviously.

That’s like saying we “welcomed” Abramovich’s money by playing Chelsea in matches. No choice in the matter.

But, if we are looking for a moral owner, we aren’t going to find one. Everyone who is massively rich is in some way dirty. Degrees of dirt, but still there. I’d be perfectly happy if we sold to Saudi or UAE, even though I’d rather ENIC stayed. Christ, I’m typing this in Dubai. 🙄 No moral issues here.

It’s a very simple take to equate capitalism with « anything that takes place within a capitalist system ». Maybe, just maybe, we can agree with some things but view others as going too far.

Your view seems to be « the game is rotten so anything goes ». I don’t share that view because I’m capable of seeing greater nuance and making finer distinctions.

Current system of immense privilege for PL teams? Not a dealbreaker but advocate for reform to benefit the whole pyramid.

ESL? Absolutely rotten idea that would have turned me completely off Football.

Doing business with sports washer? Not a deal breaker but advocate for reform to ensure more responsible ownership.

Being OWNED by a sports washer? Dealbreaker which would turn me off spurs.

Owners are unscrupulous businessmen? Not a dealbreaker.

Owners are using the football club to launder their reputation of terrible human rights abuses and religious extremism? Deal breaker.

We didn't have to sell. Just like we didn't have to with Kane, so didn't. We made a decision to sell because Walker did want to go and 50 million was too much to turn down. He had a couple of years left minimum IIRC. Bit different to playing in scheduled league games which you absolutely have to do unless you no longer want to be a Premier League team.

And I have no issues with it at all. If we got taken over by Saudis it wouldn't be ideal as I do think there's something more romantic about winning it by going the "long way" round but I wouldn't object on moral grounds as again, I view top level football as morally bankrupt anyway. I doubt there's many billionaires alive right now who aren't raking in at least some money from the Middle East.

You can say, factually, that we didn’t HAVE to sell, granted. But you know we did really. Hung up on a technicality here I think.

Just like there’s probably “dirty” money coming from sponsorship or corporate bookings. I have clients throughout the Middle East, I buy tickets, so my money is dirty too? Money we don’t HAVE to take, but no reason not to.

Billie T talks sensibly on the latest Extra Inch - not focusing on ENIC out but instead forcing Levy out, or at the very least away from the FC. That could happen IMO with some further heat. In his 60’s now, going to want a retirement at some point - maybe Lewis buys his stake or some other form by his stake (30%?)

I thought the general consensus on here was that ENIC should sell? 85% so the last time you were crowing about it. So those 85% want ENIC to sell but not to anyone naughty? Otherwise they’d turn their back on the club?

That’s the general consensus is it?

Or are you so used to making shit up that you just don’t notice you are doing it anymore?

Nice last paragraph by the way. No personal attacks, just a massive generalization of a group that hardly exists. Speak about last ditch weapons. You used to be better at this than you are now. Sad to see the decline.
LoL :roflmao: :roflmao:
You really, really don't like the results of this poll, do you :harrylol:

Try not to take it so personally, mate. Levy don't give a fuck about you, so just accept you're backing the losing side and move on.

Hopefully, we'll have a great transfer window and a really strong finish to the season.

That will make us all feel happy and no doubt your mate will post another version at an opportunist moment and the result will go your way.

Ah, deflection. Lovely stuff. All killer and no filler when you take the stage. Classic JT.

As before, I don’t take this poll seriously at all, certainly don’t take it personally. I’ve no dog in this race.

Just feel the need to pick you up when you post things in error ‘ lie through your teeth. Just keeping everyone honest in this debate.

Not sure if anything will make us all happy. I’m not the board spokesman. Appreciate you setting that one up for me.
