One good year?
Are you on crack or totally ignorant to our history?

FA Cup 1961
League title 1961
FA Cup 1962
FA Cup 1967
Charity Shield 1961
Charity Shield 1962
Charity Shield 1967
Uefa Cup Winners Cup 1963
Chuck in the charity shield wins, hahaha hahaha

Some sadacts on here try to claim when we lose that all teams lose, so what?

Do you think top bods at ambitious clubs are happy about it? That they just go "meh" and carry on.
The top teams hate losing. They probably have massive meetings to discuss how it happened, why it happened and what can be done to stop it happening again.
We always have an excuse for losing. For losing games like this Saturday all the way up to games like a CL final, or a league game that would have taken us ahead of Leicester with a handful of games.

If there's excuses at the very top, they will work their way all the way down to every one.
All the social media posts making out like the players are fucking horrified are pathetic.
I don't want heartfelt messages. I want them to come back in the next 10 games and show me they're serious. And I want them to do that because that is what the club expects.

I don't care if we have a new manager.
We have one of those very 2 years on average. So they're always new.
I didn't read Sons apparent apology, I never take notice of that shit

It's hollow rhetoric, trotted out by the club media, that over the years we have heard too many times.
Look at Klopp yesterday, that man hated losing, that is the type of acceptance to losing that Conte was referring to in regards to us.
Klopp wanted to clean up on the trophy front, that's what I want to see from my team and management.
Not excuses that, we should be grateful for just being in the league and ticking over

Stop acting simple.

Liverpool went down in the fucking 50s.
During the 70s and 80s their level of success compared to ours.. Well its a joke to even compare it.
You mentioned the 60s Mr Simpleton, I remember Liverpool in the 70s as I grew up then.
Stop twisting the tune, because it's not fitting your warped view of just being grateful to be in the league alongside these powerhouses.

I want that utter rage at losing.
I can't fathom why fans want a nicey nicey coach who toes the line and never says a word.

That was the single biggest reason I wanted Conte. Either he would rage-win or he would tell it like it was. I got one of them.

Same here, I know there is a line that you have to be careful not to cross.
Fergie and Wenger were like it, nobody on the player front seems too upset when we lose, certainly levy isn't bothered maybe that makes it's way down.

Well you don't or can't read properly.

I referenced the 60s and our 1 season we dominated with the domestic double, then said "otherwise"

We were a great side in the 1960s. That being 60 years ago. We were not the dominant force throughout the 60s and never have been. We
sat on Man Utds perch whilst they had an inevitable struggle for a few years following the Munich Air disaster, but by 64 they were back up and flying, winning 2 league titles and a European Cup.

That's the best we have ever had it. It's never been the norm for us to be at the top of Engliah football like other mentioned sides.

For some dubious refereeing in the CL semi final against Benfica, we also might have been European champions.
As for not being the norm being at the top, at least you can thank ENIC for retaining that tradition.

Liverpool went down and stayed down for 8 years. We've been down once and came up within one year.

Liverpool were a small team in the 60's. End of.
Except the time we went down and sat in the 2nd division for 11 years of a 13 year period either side of the war.

Liverpool dominated the 70s and 80s in a way we never have, and that's why they are a far bigger club than us unfortunately.

END OF

Perhaps in 2080 people might say the same about the 2019 final.
Nobody will give a shit then either.

First team to do a double
First team to win in Europe
2 FA Cups

Don't sniff. Who did dominate in the 60's?

I would say United though obviously had a tough start to the decade and there was no blatant domination.

But that was our absolute peak.
During the 70s 80s 90s (pre Enic) we had several clubs establish themselves well above us.

It's romantic to think Levy took on a sleeping giant but it wasn't really the case.
He took on an established mid table side with a notable history of the odd decent cup run.

By 2001 the 1960s were already a significant number of footballing cycles ago.

Spurs have never dominated like Liverpool & United did after the 60's when they had their periods of sustained dominance. But until City, no one has really.
Loads of teams have had a go. Everton won a few titles, Villa, Woolwich. Forest, but it was always those 2 really. Liverpool through the 70's and 80's and United through the 90's and 00's

But you shouldn't underestimate where we were when Levy took over.
Only United, Liverpool and Woolwich had won more than us.
And still only those 3, with now City and Chelsea have won more than us.
