Donley never played in Belgium and his Champo experience is a meagre 4 games for Stoke.

You're thinking of Devine.

Yup Leyton Orient L1 last season - but there he got accustomed to the physical side of game and in 52 appearances (3,683 mins) got 8 goals and 11 assists, not counting 'That goal' which bounced off underside of ManCity crossbar onto keepers back and into goal to impress Pep who had looked down just before Donley struck the ball, not recognising that Donley could pull off such a long 'just inches out' lob.

Although it was L1, getting to 19 goal involvement (plus the Mancity effort) is impressive and given Simons form and uncertainty over Kulusevski's fitness when he returns ..... I'd get Donley training with first team for a week or so on his recall to Spurs to see if Franks thinks he could be a viable rotation/sub option as 10 for rest of the season.

Donley has only played 77 minutes of Champo football, according to the Stoke Sentinel.

If he can't get gametime there, when is competition is Bae Jun-ho, Mubama (awful young No 9 on loan from City) or Bozenik, well he's defo not ready for even a sub role here.

Gotta find him another Champo loan or even send him back down to League One (Orient v2.0, Stevenage, Reading, Luton, Wycombe?). No shame in that, he's only 21. Another half season of playing week in week out, albeit at a lesser level, is better than sitting on the bench for Stoke or us.

I think you need to look at the Stoke manager.

Ashley Phillips was rated as Stoke's best defender last season by the Stoke fans. He returned for a 2nd season but started on the bench not getting a game or even sub appearance - it was revealed in an interview the manager had decided on his best x1 before start of season and was not changing his mind. However one of Stoke's defenders missed a couple of games through injury, forcing the manager's hand - Phillips started playing and has has now played all the last 16 matches, despite the injured players return.

Donley went to Stoke on loan with a fantastic reputation from Orient, on the basis he would get playing time versus going to other Championship clubs. He's played just 77 mins in 3 sub appearances in Championship so far (with one assist) - just not given a chance. I don't think anyone can read anything into that other than the Manager doesn't change his team selection unless he has to through player injury (as he had to with Phillips) - nothing that Donley can do if manager is stubborn.

Mark Robbins might get the sack soon, Stoke are dropping too many points, the footy is boring and there's some unrest in that dressing room. But I think Donley will be back in N17 before the next guy is appointed at the Britannia.

If I'm the kid, I'm asking my agent to do whatever is humanly possible to get me back at Orient asap.

They’re 12th in L1.
Why wouldn’t he look for a loan to another Championship team? Has the division proven to be too great a leap?
Would they stay P12 if Jamie re-joined? If he picked up where he left off, it's likely they'd shoot up that table. But could also go pear-shaped, it's hard to tell. Look at Dorrie up in Aberdeen...was very good last season, barely makes the matchday squad these days.

Donley's No 1 issue is that he's barely kicked a ball for months, his match fitness will be in the dumps. Easier to get back into the groove & to a decent level of performance in League One than in the Champo.

Anyway, best of luck to the kid, he's proper COYS.

Get him on our bench for games 2 and 3 of Simons’s suspension (Brentford & Sunderland).

The key thing is to get him training with the first team for Frank and first team players to see what he can do- if he doesn't pass that test he's not going to get any game time in PL.

Donley played well in preseason matches 2 years ago but last preseason he (and all other non first team players) got no playing time in matches on tour (a bad mistake from Frank and coaching team, given they knew Kulusevski was out and Simons had not joined at that stage) although did play in some of the earlier preseason games in UK. So I doubt if Frank and coaching team have that much idea of Donley's capabilities,

Sadly the loan rules mean he cannot go out on loan again this season if he plays for Spurs, so Frank needs to be sure he would give Donley minutes if he stays.

Yeah let's recall Donley, that's just as pointless a loan as you'll ever see.

Stoke are an atrocious watch, even worse than Frankball, and yet that mug Mark Robins doesn't bring on a creative kid who's desperate to show what he can do. Hope the cunt gets the sack but still, fuck it, bring the lad home. I'd even consider recalling Ashley just out of spite.

Ash loses possession very cheaply high up the pitch, with Stoke desperately looking for an equalizer. Sheffield counter and within seconds, Ash's teammate gets a red for DOCGSO.
