Oxford doomed but Lanks should have "earned" a pen. Donley can't be fit if he wasn't brought on in a game calling out for him.
Stoke stuffed by Millwall.
Irow unused sub.

I know people will say he’s not ready and do on but could he be any worse than kolo Richi and tel on the wing,?

Akhamrich similar age to Tel but less experience and playing in L2 so its 'easier' ..... but a shame he didn't get on pitch to show what he could do when unused sub twice for Spurs first team before being loaned in January.

Of the youth players not on loan I'd love to see 18 year old and 6 foot Tynan Thompson given a couple of cameos (had 45 mins in preseason v L2 and looked very good) as he's a goalscoring attacking LW maybe RW (not too unlike Saka ?).... and available now, whilst Mikey Moore as a left sided forward is doing well enough at Rangers to have a chance next season to make the squad.

Problem currently is Muani seems unmotivated (his stats at Frankfurt and Juventus suggests he can do far more than we've seen), Richarlison technique is not the best but when motivated he's a handful, Tel has not really made the most of opportunities he's had. Problem is we need at least one of them to 'click' and none have really

Still 4 or so games to play for most + any play-offs but I'll do some ratings now on how the loans have gone and maybe a quick summary (ages at time they were loaned).

Vuskovic - 18yo CB - Hamburg - full season - 10/10

Excelled in his first season in a top 5 league carrying a promoted side to likely safety. Played every minute of every game he was available for. Scored 5 league goals including one against Bayern. Broke record with his aerial dominance and will surely be in the running for Bundesliga young player of the season. All top clubs will be watching him.

Moore - 17yo LW/AM - Rangers - full season - 9/10

Not an easy start with waiting for his visa and took some time to settle but really started to click under Rohl. 9 goal involvements all comps and has won over the Rangers fans who adore him. Having the impact he's had at the Ibrox at 18 will have done him wonders. Rangers are in a title race and only 1 point off the top so a chance of silverware for Mikey.

Solomon - 26yo LW - Villareal - half season - 1/10

Struggled to break into the top half La Liga side and subsequently was recalled.

Solomon - 26yo LW - Fiorentina - half season - 3/10

Broke into a struggling Seria A side for a few games before getting injured. Fiorentina have a 8.7m buy option.

Devine - 21yo AM - Preston - full season - 8/10

Been a key player for midtable Preston in the Championship. 8 goals 5 assists are very decent numbers. Buy option is rumoured to be 4.5m over 5 years plus add-ons. Could be a good investment for Preston if they can find the funds.

Takai - 21yo CB - Gladbach - half season - 3/10

Struggled early on with an couple of big errors, German Athletic reporter said it looked like there was a lot of adaption ahead of him. He then got injured for over a month but should return soon.

Phillips - 19yo CB - Stoke - full season - 9/10

Despite returning for a 2nd season at Stoke, he had to win back him place at the start of the season. Once he did a month in, he become a mainstay in the side. He's had 13 clean sheets this season and only the top 3 sides in the Championship have a better defensive record. He was given the armband for a game with the captain out which shows their appreciation of him as a 20 year old loanee. He has played more minutes than any other player 20 or under and has been nominated for Championship young player of the season.

Veliz - 21yo ST - Rosario - full season 7/10

Been first choice CF in a strong Argentinian side which won the league in the 2025 season (first half of his loan). Has managed 9 goals all comps and struck up a good relationship with Di Maria on the wing. Attracted interest from various clubs and agreed a 9m move to Bahia in Brazil once his loan ends.

Yang - 19yo LW - Pompey - half season 3/10

Showed glimpses of what he can do as he did at QPR has season but never really locked down a starting spot in the team and was eventually recalled by Spurs.

Yang - 19yo LW - Coventry - half season 0/10

Started 1 game in the cup with was deemed not worthy of a squad space by Lampard and has not featured in over 2 months despite being fit. Won't automatically be eligible for a medal if Coventry win the league although extra ones can be applied for.

Scarlett - 21yo ST - Hibs - half season 3/10

Is getting plenty of starts and minutes to show what he can do but isn't making the impact he would have hoped for in Scotland, the Hibs fans don't seem too impressed with him. Minutes are good but can't come away from this loan with no goals.

Lankshear - 20yo ST - Oxford - full season 8/10

Locked down the starting striker spot at Oxford and won over the fans. 9 goals + 3 assists a decent return in the relegation fighting side. Still some parts of his game that need developing, got a good frame but plays as an in the box poacher. Could maybe take a leaf out of Delap's book of being a handful. Oxford fans want to sign him but think they would be priced out.

Donley - 20yo AM - Stoke - half season 0/10

Hard to really know what happened at Stoke. Went there off the back of excelling in a promotion chasing League 1 side where he won POTS but wasn't even being given chances at a midtable Championship side. The Stoke manager as with dropping Phillips seemed very set on an XI he devised in preseason. Had handbags with Stoke's striker at the end of an international game so might have been issues in the changing room. Was recalled by the club.

Donley - 20yo AM - Oxford - half season 7/10

Picked up an unfortunate concussion + shoulder injury just 17 minutes in to his first game which had him out for another month but has broken into an Oxford team which has really put up a fight against relegation since Donley came in. His numbers could be better but he's certainly made an impact. He is rumoured to have a 4.5m buy option which Oxford fans think they should go for if they survive although obviously us going down would impact Donley's decision since he's a big Spurs fan.

Abbott - 19yo AM/CM - Wycombe - half season 5/10

Excelled in league 2 the season prior and started well in League 1 before picking up an injury. Was set to be out until Feb but was rushed back around Christmas at which point Spurs recalled him to manage the injury.

Abbott - 20yo CM - Mansfield - half season 5/10

Joined while injured and the club gave Mansfield very strict minute limits as part of his reintegration but has now won a starting spot in the side.

Dorrington - 20yo CB - Aberdeen - half season 1/10

Returned to Aberdeen having been a starter for them last season where he won the Scottish Cup and fell out of favour under the same manager. Didn't play for the last 2 months of his loan before being recalled.

Dorrington - 20yo CB - Salford - half season 1/10

Dropped down to Salford who are chasing the play-offs in League 2 and initially started but lost his place after conceding 3 first half goals to Grimsby. Once a very promising England youth international that has been hampered by injuries. Not sure where he goes from here.

Tyrese Hall - 19yo AM - Notts - full season 6/10

Has decent numbers in league 2 as an AM with 7 goals and 2 assists but hasn't quite locked down a starting spot which you would hope he's capable of doing in League 2. Looks behind Abbott who did slightly better at the same club last season. Just outside the automatic promoted spots at the moment so still a chance to make a big impact.

Ajayi - 19yo RW - Doncaster - half season 3/10

Had an incredible preseason and couldn't stop scoring but never broke into the side as a starting option in League 1 and was subsequently recalled after dropping out the squad.

Ajayi - 20yo RW - Bromley - half season 3/10

Has taken a while to break into a flying League 2 side but has featured enough now to be eligible for a medal should the leaders win the title and has started the last few.

Irow - 19yo LW - Mansfield - half season 5/10

A very good brace on his debut and has had plenty of minutes in and out of the starting XI.

Akhamrich - 20yo RW - Bristol Rovers - half season 7/10

Has had a very good half season loan taking Bristol Rovers from the edge of relegation to well clear in midtable. Only 5 goals but enough to make him their 3rd top scorer in the league this season.

Maguire - 21yo GK - Hampton & Richmond - half season 1/10

Played 3 games with 1 clean sheet before H&R decided to bring in a more experienced keeper for the National League South.

Logan - 18yo LB - Braintree - half season 3/10

Played 11 games but wasn't enough to convince Braintree to take him on permanently. Has been sent on trial to Leeds U21s and QPR U21s previously in an attempt to offload him.

Assuming nothing significant happens between now and rest of the season, how do you see them next season ?

1 Include in First team preseason, possibility to be in next season's first team (but unlikely to be all of them ?)
Vuskovic (CB)
Moore (LW)
Lankshear (no 9)
Devine (CM/AM)
Donley (AM/striker)
Phillips (CB)

2 Loan next season to a higher division
Takai (repeat in Bundesliga ?)
Yang (repeat in Championship)
Hall (CM)
Akhamrich (LW/RW)
Scarlett (9) (repeat in Championship)
Abbott (CM)
Dorrington (CB)
Ajayi (AM)
Irow (fwd)

3 Offload if possible
Veliz, (no 9)
Solomon (winger)
Maguire (GK)
Logan (LB/LCB)

I'd guess there will be competition to get on preseason and into fringes of first team squad from the likes of Byfield, Olusesi, LWB and T. Thompson ....... so it could get quite crowded ?

It's all going to be up in the air, Vuskovic will be away with Croatia but expect pretty much all the others to be in early preseason (except maybe Devine if he leaves). Scarlett will have to do what Parrott did and move away permanently if he wants a career, maybe abroad. Irow and Ajayi shouldn't move up. Would send Olusesi out to L2/L1 depending on who comes in. God knows what you do with Dorrington if he can't get minutes at Salford now, still has 3 years left so probably have to send him back out to L2. This summer will be one big mess.

What's a lot of our U21s when Will was playing and I really liked him. Seems like he is better at this stage of his career than Kane was. Not saying he will be nearly as good as Kane, but he is showing real promise. Has to stay with us next season.

Will is a pure striker whereas Harry could probably have made it as a no 10 or even a deep lying playmaker as well - so Harry's more versatile.

Harry made his first appearances in spurs first team aged 18 although didn't make his first PL start until aged 21 under Sherwood but by then he'd played a few times for Spurs first team.

Lankshear is now just turned age 21 and played a couple of times under Ang, notably v Galatasaray and we hope he makes first team appearances next season - so in terms of age when they broke through at Spurs, there may not be much difference between them. Both also physical specimens

If Will can transfer the form he's shown for Oxford to Spurs, and improves a little with age, Spurs will have very good player ..... might be a few years to assess how good, but any striker (and indeed other players) capable of competing in PL will be great news

Yes, I agree. Kane is a playmaker and a striker, truly on of a kind. We just have to hope Will becomes a good striker.
