I agree with most of that, but think there is a big difference between Winks / Sanchez - both useless most of the time - and Lucas, who has actually been one of our best and most effective players this season. Totally agree that Kulu offers something quite different to Lucas, and may get the nod over him in many games, but I also like having the Lucas option (whereas I can't really think of occasions when I was glad to have a Sanchez or Winks option...).
I'm a Lucas fan but his performances have been tailing off lately. He needed a rest.

It just great we now have Kulu as a viable option there and before we had no one.

I do think ultimately Kulu's extra quality will see him edge his way into the regular first XI fairly quickly though.

Pep did what every top team does: he went for a player he knew would improve the team. Can't blame him for that. It was rather the incompetent agent of Kane's fault.
And then he kept talking about it like a salty bitch.

A simple, "we tried, didn't work" would suffice.

Why is he going on an on about how hard they tried and how we are to negotiatie with?

Cearly trying to unsettle Kane and give the impression they tried their best, maybe give him hope for another summer.

Fact is, they plopped down a 100m for Grealish without blinking an eye, and then tried to play dirty with us. Levy did exactly the right thing by not picking up the phone.
