We're not looking too bad tbf. Timo's literally just come in and clearly will need a bit of time to get sympatico.

Just wish we had our King creator back in midfield. Maddison around and we'd likely be lashing them.

Yeah completely agree. We've actually been pretty good but literally playing our second string midfield is always going to cause issues.

Romero looks off it defensively and we are seeing how important a good RCB is when playing Porro at RB. Brennan needs to get back an double up on Rashford more but I'm not sure that's Ange's system?

Desperately missing Maddison more than any other player right now.

I wish he would test Dalot on the outside, he hasn't tried once that I remember.

For those who would not like Drago to come on and sit in front of Cuti/VDV:

a) What do you think would go wrong?

b) How would it be worse than skipp/hoj in there, providing total instability?

Game has had a settled pattern. We like to have the ball, United are happy for us to have it and then lump it forward to counter in the space. So far it's working for them better than our depleted team is trying to play possession football and break them down.

Gotta say I think both goals have been fucking soft. The first is just way too naive, at one point we're at a 3vs2 disadvantage at the back as they break. The second we lose the ball and totally vacate our midfield, and then there are enough people to defend it but Romero does that charge across, overshoot it, end up running into Porro, and get taken out of the game shite that we saw far too often last season.

It's hard with 12 out and a patched together team, chasing the game and having to break them down is probably the worst scenario for us and aids their tactics, but we can only keep going and see what happens. Maybe go all out for set pieces, seems the most threatening route for us /Pulis mode.

Swap the teams wingers over and we go in well ahead. Once we scored we slowed down and started swanning around like we owned the place which led to the false sense of security and then us inevitably conceding. Wasteful and ponderous at times. Midfield has been very good the rest barring Richarlison not fully up to it. Need to be much more decisive in the second half.

We've been the much better team. You'd have to be a serious melter to think we haven't been.

We are still in the game. But we have to actually start creating. Unless I am forgetting one, the only real chance we've created from open play was that Werner one at the end.

United have been really good off the ball though. To their credit.

I'd be shocked if there not another 2 goals in this atleast.

Negatives:
1. Letting them play 1 -2s in the box is awful defending, davies and royal would be slaughtered for conceding those goals.
2. Brennan and Werner poor. They are passing backward too often and playing it safe. Man Utd enjoying allowing us to play it about. When they do get into a dangerous position it's been overhit or put wide. Compared to Rashford its night and day.

Positives:
1. Richarlison looks bright. Offensively we do look like scoring despite missing key men like Son, Kulu and Maddison.
2. We look dangerous from every set piece.

We are still in it, but do feel we have maybe given them too much confidence from the first half. Expect they will fancy it now. Hopefully don't leave it too late to get a goal back. We don't have much options on the bench.

We have the ball and the shots...but they lead. Our defending has been terrible...they got 2 but could easily be 4. We're making them look like prime Utd.

We aren't in control really. Just feels like yet another game where we've not turned up or turned up half arsed. Very underwhelming performance, just an odd vibe about it...

Romero hit the bar. We are getting into good positions. We look dangerous on set pieces. Richie scored. There's at least three or four there.

They scored from their only two shots.
We scored from a set piece mate and Romero’s hit the post from another, no? That’s hardly “creating enough chances” imo.
