Ah cool. didn't know.

What a shady deal that is.

Let's hope Solomon ends up as good because the deal is sounding pretty shady too
I mean it's not really "shady"

What FIFA couldn't and shouldn't do, which would run afoul of Bosman principles, is force these players to be attached to their Ukrainian/Russian clubs for any longer than what they signed for. Wars end, money changes hands, but Manor Solomon never gets to be 23 again and he should be free to seek whatever club will have him.

The mystery is why Shakhtar doesn't get to auction off a player it has under contract until June 2024. That's the clear implication of FIFA's ruling, but it seems like it would be easy to work around if FIFA had shown more wisdom here.

It's strange how being 'free' somehow makes this a decent signing . So if we'd had to pay for him he wouldn't be a decent signing :roflmao:

The mental gymnastics really is off the scale this summer. Its ike getting those disappointing pants and socks for Christmas that you feel obliged to feel grateful for.

It is what it is guys. Another cheap punt. Or free punt in this case.

Progress?
You really are a miserable soul.

At least see him play a few games.

Their contracts run Jan > Dec, mate.

What happens if Solomon wants to go but Shakhtar ask for 15 million and no one wants to pay it? Same thing is a problem if you had an independent fee set. It's a player centric model, I acknowledge.

In theory? He can do what he did with Fulham, he can play on loan, but he's not a free agent who can agree to a contract beyond the end of his current one until his current one has run out.

That means Shakhtar can take the money on offer now, or risk his contract running out, no different than if he were still playing for them.

it is strange of course (FiFA all over) and perhaps ironic that a couple of days before this deal was agreed we announce Shaktar as a pre season friendly with all proceeds going to aid war victims in the UKRAINE theres your transfer fee which will be a couple of million at best.

Shame that FIFA dont auction the player to the highest bidder and when the war is over give the transfer fee back to Shaktar then to rebuild.

The guy has to be worth a nominal fee of 7-10 million pounds atleast and thats fuck all to a club like Spurs

Im extremely excited to see Solomon in a Spurs shirt and think he possesses all the attributes in a modern day attacker to be a massive success for us

His blistering pace and dribbling skills are phenomenal not to mention his all round work rate and teamwork plus he can carry the ball effortlessly at speed and that is a trait only a few current EPL players can do (Salah, Son, Saka ....... there surnames all start with S lol add Solomon to the S-CLUB)

this season i see him more probably as an impact sub but eventually phasing Sonny out of the team in the years ahead.

COYS

COYSOLOMON

COY - S- CLUB (maybe not) lol
