Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Bookies always stack odds and the press always spin bullshit stories on those very same odds, it’s a money making scam and anyone who can’t see it is a donkey. Real won’t go for Poch at all to unproven never won anything and wants full control of the team. Won’t get that at Madrid, imagine him telling twats like Ramos and Ronaldo they need to press more? Would be Brian Clough at Leeds all over again.

Conte is the natural choice, wants out of Chelsea proven winner, and as long as he has money to spend he’s happy.

Poch will have known fine that signing an extension to take it to 5years with us one of the big jobs would come up within that period yet was happy to stay if he wasn't he wouldn't have signed! Madrid what will he get two years at most before they start waving their white hankies! Stated the the Spurs job was the most exciting in Europe, Real wouldn't be buys the best players service resumed they win how fecking boring.....besides levy knows fine Poch leaves he can forget about keeping dele,Eriksen ect and an half empty 60+ stadium looks fecking awful look at the goons...

That interview today can't come soon enough. I'm getting bloody stomach cramps stressing over this thing.

Say hell freezes over and Poch leaves.. that would surely mean a farewell to Kane and Eriksen as well... The whole thing could come crumbling down. Next thing you know we are signing the likes of Evans and Shaqiri and battling with Everton for the 7th spot.

God some of you lot would be useless in a crisis.

It ain't happening. It would be an utter fucking nightmare in terms of the contractual logistics.

Madrid would never get a sniff at our players again. Timing is everything.

I see the scum has listed Klopp as a potential candidate. It's happening lads!!!!

:pochlol:

No you're not you're just a trolling cunt .... as a 'professional' poster it's good to know your now feckin' off to a Madrid fan site ... oh wait I forgot you only post bullshit so "if I was a professional in football I would still leave us to join them" is just more of your asinine nonsense ... prove me wrong and feck off ..... go on

I’m a troll because I don’t participate in your endless comfort narratives that do not bear any relation to reality ( your assertion that our new training complex being the result of Poch despite it being devised prior to his arrival being a prime example of that). Right let’s pretend that this isn’t an industry, that this isn’t an occupation to them and that Madrid are not at the top of this pyramid structure of the game. The realities of the modern game don’t apply to us ‘just because’ right? God help Poch if he does leave because the level of vitriol that will be directed at him by your sort will be quite something.

Are Madrid going to pay the £42.5 million it would take to buyout his contract.

Nope.

Agreed but more importantly is that Pochettino and nearly any manager has one thing only to win, loads to lose and Ronaldo to contend with. Not an enviable task.

My view is they will look at a Spanish manager or one that is currently or who has worked in La Liga in recent times.

It does though force Levy's hand a touch. New contract for Pochettino is one thing. Now backing him in the transfer market would be welcome.

Pochettino seems like a perfect candidate for RM if they are going through a generation change and if they are going to spend a couple of years rebuilding. However, it is a job that can only hurt him, his reputation and his career.

The current RM side will have to get rid of some very key players in their rebuild, and will most likely struggle to find players to replace them in the current market.

They might want someone like Poch to get something out of their younger players, their fantastic academy, but it will be a very hard task to follow up Zidane's success with that kind of a strategy.

In my head Poch is the type of manager they should bring in in a few years time. Once they have had their little down period. Like how we got him in after AVB and Tinpot Tim

I’m calling horseshit on the “surprise” from Perez. With Madrid’s league performance this year, rumors have been swirling that Zidane may be on the outs for months. And if all the talk about the players turning against him are true, then this decision was likely mutual consent.

In any case, if Madrid had any interest in Poch they would have backchanneled with his people long ago to gauge his interest. I can’t believe Poch would sign an extension given the circumstances if he was truly interested in the Madrid job.

Besides, now is the worst time to go to Madrid. How do you follow 3 CL titles in a row? Madrid goes through managers every 2-3 years - if they like him so much then the job will be open again sometime in the future.

I would think that if Poch has gotten assurances of increased financial support from Levy, wouldn’t you want to stick it out a few more seasons and see if you can prove that your system works? That he built a team his way and won? If he wins a title with Spurs he’s a club legend. At Madrid, he’d be a footnote.
Totally spot-on take, imo.

La Gazetta de lo Sport is joining in on the fun and says that Poch is the main man out of 4 possible names for the Real job (the others being Conte, Sarri and Cannavaro). But they add the twist that if Poch goes then Sarri would prefer to work for us than work for Chavs.

If that scenario somehow came to pass is it too late to add a fancy cigar room to the stadium?
