Poch will have known fine that signing an extension to take it to 5years with us one of the big jobs would come up within that period yet was happy to stay if he wasn't he wouldn't have signed! Madrid what will he get two years at most before they start waving their white hankies! I’m a troll because I don’t participate in your endless comfort narratives that do not bear any relation to reality ( your assertion that our new training complex being the result of Poch despite it being devised prior to his arrival being a prime example of that). Right let’s pretend that this isn’t an industry, that this isn’t an occupation to them and that Madrid are not at the top of this pyramid structure of the game. The realities of the modern game don’t apply to us ‘just because’ right? God help Poch if he does leave because the level of vitriol that will be directed at him by your sort will be quite something.

Agreed but more importantly is that Pochettino and nearly any manager has one thing only to win, loads to lose and Ronaldo to contend with. Not an enviable task.

My view is they will look at a Spanish manager or one that is currently or who has worked in La Liga in recent times.

It does though force Levy's hand a touch. New contract for Pochettino is one thing. Now backing him in the transfer market would be welcome.
 
Pochettino seems like a perfect candidate for RM if they are going through a generation change and if they are going to spend a couple of years rebuilding. However, it is a job that can only hurt him, his reputation and his career.

The current RM side will have to get rid of some very key players in their rebuild, and will most likely struggle to find players to replace them in the current market.

They might want someone like Poch to get something out of their younger players, their fantastic academy, but it will be a very hard task to follow up Zidane's success with that kind of a strategy.

In my head Poch is the type of manager they should bring in in a few years time. Once they have had their little down period. Like how we got him in after AVB and Tinpot Tim

That he built a team his way and won? If he wins a title with Spurs he’s a club legend. At Madrid, he’d be a footnote.

La Gazetta de lo Sport is joining in on the fun and says that Poch is the main man out of 4 possible names for the Real job (the others being Conte, Sarri and Cannavaro). But they add the twist that if Poch goes then Sarri would prefer to work for us than work for Chavs.

If that scenario somehow came to pass is it too late to add a fancy cigar room to the stadium?
