U wot m8?Failings of the past....interesting point.
That being: Sherwoods 8 wins & 2 draws from his first 12 games with 2 goals per game scored ?
Or AVB's 1.83 points per game prior to sacking ?
Neither of the above deemed good enough ( under AVB we were equally dull ) but Pochettino deserves time ?
Why ?
So he can keep playing inverted wingers, without proper attacking full backs ? So he can press high up with no pressing central midfielders who can pass forward ? So he can pick Kaboul as Captain and play out that comedy show for 8 games again ? Or Drop Lennon for Lamella despite Lennon playing well or Play Ericksen on the left to no effect..... Yeah ok. Give him time clearly deserves it.
all this said, I am not suggesting he is sacked due to results alone, but on performances I can't see why he should stay, mostly the tactics are awful & the performances worse than the "failings of the past"
I accept I am being a degree sensitive about this guy, but having gone through the 90's I am in no rush to go back there and at the moment I feel we are strangely similar to those awful sides, without a Ginola to ease the pain....
He struggles like anyone with a small squad does. If you can't rotate or give the team an extra few doses of steriods, December in the Premier League will chew you up. Every small squad suffers this way. It will happen to Southampton again this year. It will also happen to us, Everton, Woolwich, Swansea and probably Chelski.Poch's December record with Southampton:
7 matches
1 win
2 draws
4 losses
He really is shit at managing the squad when games come thick and fast.
Stoke:
7 played, 2 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses
Crystal Palace:
6 played, 3 wins, 3 losses
Hull City:
7 played, 2 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses
Sunderland:
7 played, 2 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses
Swansea:
7 played, 1 win, 3 draws, 3 losses
Poch's Southampton:
7 played, 1 win, 2 draws, 4 losses. One of the worst December records out of any club in the premier league, whether their squad is big or small. After going through every teams December fixtures Poch had the joint third worst December record out of every team in terms of points. So no, he didn't "Struggle like anyone else".
The guy can not handle a lot of matches in quick succession. I'm not looking forward to this month..
reckon its because of the tiring style of play constantly running about and not changing players. mason and kane need a break for at least one game
I am not seeing much difference between 3 losses and 4. If you want to, fine, but that's not a dramatic looking difference to me. We will see what December brings for us. People also said he couldn't win if the team went a goal down. We've come from behind to win 4 times so far this year.Stoke:
7 played, 2 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses
Crystal Palace:
6 played, 3 wins, 3 losses

Sunderland:

He went with 4-4-2 against Everton. And his 4-2-3-1 uses the left winger to become a 4-4-2 in attack. Formations are not static objects.I am totally someone who believes in poch and want to give him at least two seasons to prove himself, however he needs to change his tactics if he wants any hope of staying. After watching about two seasons of a 4-2-3-1 (AVB/Poch) I just don't think it works well for a team like us. you need the worlds best players to do a 4-2-3-1( like chelski scum) and then it works very well. we are crying out for azza and a second striker. 4-4-2 needs to be tried at the very least. I think sherwood saw this, too bad he was a wanker.
Townsend's injured. If he comes back from injury soon, and with the level of improvement Bentaleb has shown since his return, it will be a very good thing.Where the hell is Townsend? Some old fashioned left footer on the left, right footer on the right at home next up Poch! Also a bit of rotation wouldn't go astray either.
Other than that not much he can do with this mish-mashed shite squad!

But you know, he's awful and everything that happened at Southampton will happen to us as well.
Let's just see how he does for Tottenham Hotspur not Southampton before you cast your stones fella, it's the 7th of December FFS!The jist of it was that in terms of points he came out third lowest, making your point about "Everyone struggles" completely mute.
He can't manage December and he can't manage a lot of games. I even post stats and facts to back this up and I get disagreed. Why, exactly? Are you disagreeing with the facts, which are blatantly there? I don't see much else you could disagree about.
I am disagreeing with your interpretation. You said joint third lowest. Which means that at least 2 people are worse, and one person is equally bad. And this was at Southampton. Which is not the same scenario as now. But many clubs were just above him. One late goal in a few games would have made "joint third worst" a much larger pool of people. At this point, he was in the bottom 20% of managers in their December results, last year, with a different club. This year, he is not at Southampton, he is at Tottenham. With a different club, different squad and different schedule. We shall see.The jist of it was that in terms of points he came out third lowest, making your point about "Everyone struggles" completely mute.

You're an even bigger melt than Claude, it's unbelievableI say save the transfer money and admit you were wrong, sack the ******* and bring FDB or Kloppe in…This is another Martin Jol or maybe worse, Ramos or AVB?. (BTW I am a huge MJ fan, but he is not the manager to maintain top 4 and win trophies)
But it's not gonna happen because the source of everything wrong in this club (i.e., Daniel Levy) is still there
