I don't think Frank has the respect of any of them. It's a bad squad, it's not this bad. They look to have downed tools essentially. The club just hiding behind the screen is exacerbating the issue too.

They need to realise they've made a mistake, rectify it quickly, while we can still save the season, and whoever comes into replace Frank inevitably, needs to come in and tell them what they are and what won't fly.

We will have to agree to disagree on Romero.

He is not doing what a captain should do in my opinion, and giving him the captaincy appears to have given him influence but in the wrong way.

The board need to understand, as do some posters that even if Frank is given better players, if they don't respect him, it's completely pointless.

Frank was given a near impossible role, fuelled by the Europa win and a warped sense of competence within the squad. A stronger manager is needed for that, but I don't think any of us appreciated that at the time.

I think after tomorrow night we will be looking for a new manager. They will go with a strong 11 and we are weakened by injury and suspension plus we are hopeless and I can only see one winner.
My gut feeling is there’s a lot going on behind the scenes to replace the manager rather than prioritising new players. They should be doing both.

I totally agree with you on Van der Ven. He's the last player I want to see unhappy. He has the potential to be a generational talent like Kane, Bale and Modric.

I'm still hopeful that something can happen in the cup and I still want Frank to succeed as our manager which is why I can't quite bring myself to agree with your post.

I believe that Frank is doing the best job he can with a poor squad decimated by injuries. I'm not convinced that Ange or anyone else would be doing any better with what we've got right now.
 
To be honest. I don’t mind or blame VdV for wanting to go. He pretty much single handily made sure we won the biggest trophy in our lifetimes, and has given us fantastic memories over the last 3 seasons. Hes held his end of the deal up! Spurs will likely get £70m+ for him so doubling our money and he gets a move to a bigger club for 3 or 4 times the wage.

Also allows up to give ample time to Vuskovic or takai
 
Players want to leave clubs all the time - doesn't mean it's gonna happen. We've kept better players like Kane and Modric when they wanted out and got another year or two of (mostly) excellence out of them. Guehi's had one foot out of Palace about 3 windows in a row and is somehow still there. Probably improved if anything.

Just cos VdV allegedly wants out doesn't actually mean anything unless we get a good enough offer and actually want to sell him. Contract length is still very much the club's favour at this point.
 
Oh poor Van De Ven, the greatest defender this club has seen, who never makes mistakes.

Make him player manager because he just deserves so much better.

He should be allowed to disrespect his manager, confront away fans and whatever else he might do.

A Mourinho in his pomp, Ferguson most definitely and probably Conte would have shut him up.

He deserves this, he deserves that. Bo!!ocks.

I love Mickey but he needs to remember where the money comes from that pays him. Without fans there is no outrageous ticket prices, no TV money, no sponsorship, no money printing stadium.

Our away fans are amongst the very best. Ange made a mistake tangling with them and so is this guy. Whatever your opinion on Frank publicly snubbing him was unprofessional as well. It doesn't matter who the gaffer is, don't do that shit in public.

What a mess we are in

The fans are not the reason we're in a mess. For the most part we're the most placid laid back and easily pleased in the league and we pay a fucking fortune for it.

We have been pushed to the brink, and it was always going to erupt eventually
