I was a Spurs fan since 1983. Probably long before you were born kid.

It's a legit question- and I don't think I believe you anyways.

You and your friend have some bizarre agenda, and you really are naive if you don't think Levy is cynical enough to try and exploit these sorts of things, cynically.

Everybody is hoping for the best for the kid, so just maybe take a chill pill and ease up a bit, k?

Lol, who care if you believe me or not...why the hell would I care what you think? You a nobody.

Going out on a wire here, I very much doubt this kid is the next Sonny. Or even becomes an elite EPL player. Hope he does (or though as we've found out the down side is the boring personal followers) but it's a pretty steep road.
So you are saying in your opinion he will be more Bongi than Bale
I just remember how pissed off 📴 was when we kept flirting with the big CB and then pulled out and he did ok at Napoli

weird and plastic? wtf?

Sure, nobody.

You're way off target. It's exactly as bk_spur bk_spur says above. We're not having a pop at the kid or writing him off long term. We're questioning Levy and recruitment on this one.

When this kid steps out on the pitch to play for us, I'll be the last person on here to turn on him if it goes tits up because he's being used too early in his development. The bizarre thing is that I fundamentally want Levy to be right on this one and see Yang be an instant success. It just doesn't tend to work out that way with most youth players early on which is why I'd prefer a more experienced player to be brought in in January and for this lad to get loaned.

You're very welcome to disagree, but I really don't understand why all of this is difficult for some people to get their heads around and why it's not a prejudiced or racist opinion to have. Some of you lot are so off target you'd accuse Frank Oz of being a sex offender for having had his hand up Yoda's arse.

There must be a hundred 18 year old talents out there with similar potential that could be picked up for £3M or so. Why wouldn't a club with a big Korean fanbase pick a Korean one over the other 99? And why wouldn't that player pick Tottenham over any other potential suitors? It's win-win.
Nothing to see here, move on.

Its the online world mate. They are increasingly steered to see everything as a binary. Sometimes it takes multiple post for a contributor to see what you have written not the argument he was having with himself.

Like you wish Yang well, but the facts are the K league is ranked lowly. That established higher ranked leagues like Brazil with a much greater history of top class talent production are more likely to throw out worldies. This is just fact but no it's because you've got it in for SK or Asians or people with black hair.

These facts and knowing Levy's marketing cynicism makes your position eminently logical ( despite us being desperate for the lad personally to be a Ronaldinho clone).

Real Spurs fans think that.
The ice dancing fans think it is another opp to whinge-whinge.

I don't really give a shit where a player is from, I just don't want the club blowing anymore money on George Kevin NKoudou's or other youth that do absolutely nothing except get loaned out a few times and then are eventually sold for a loss, as is likely to happen with Alejo, and is about to happen with Gil. Far worse than the lost opportunity cost of money is the lost opportunity cost of club time.

Since we can't all watch all the football leagues around the world at all times, it's a fair question to ask if this is merely a cynical purchase or not without being called a racist.

What an idiot. Shut up and read the posts before you jump to conclusion. I just said we don't know if he is good or not and its not right to judge because of him being Asian.

"off target" on what? LMAO

Seems like you have too much time buddy go and get yourself a girl and stop talking about sex offending and Yoda's arse.

Buddy? You're not my fucking buddy, sunshine. You're a cockledoodle fucknut. You're bringing the race factor into this, not me. I was talking about their league.

I hereby crown you the thickest person on this forum.

Rise, Sir Simpleton.

You obviously have too much time in your hands. Learn to read and understand grammar.
Nothing beats stupid like you. Another one on the ignore list.

He's not- mostly people are just trying to figure out if Levy has made some cynical move here.

Consensus is- maybe- but the kid has real talent and potential
and there is no reason not to support him as with any other Spurs player.
I'm sure it's crossed his mind... But then again, we're tapping into the Scandinavian market with Kulu and Bergwall (admittedly, not as lucrative)

But the point being, is if they're any good, then they WILL raise our/their profile in their home Country...
Laws of physics, innit?

Might be good. Might be amazing. Might be shocking. £3m is chump change though isn’t it. You can bet if he went elsewhere and was mustard fans would be asking why we weren’t after him.

Kulu played at Juventus. Yang did not.
Is that really a sensical comparison?

Does Levy have an eye on the South Korean market where we have a huge presence, with tons of people making it all the way to the Lane each home game and probably buying a lot of merch? Of course he does. He'd be mad not to, as a businessman.

None of that stuff matters to the average fan of course. It's not like we see the profits.

But I don't really see that as cynical. There are promising youngsters all over the place. It's not surprising we would be looking at someone who plays in a country we have built a huge fanbase in.

If Clint Dempsey and Brad Friedel had made us hugely popular in the States, I'm not sure there'd be as much conversation around cynicism if we went on to buy a promising young player from there. I'm not saying it's racism or anything like that, because I get it, to be honest. Same thought had gone through my head. But on second thoughts it just feels like 'nothing to see here'
