Player Min-Hyuk Yang

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

At the time of Yang signing thus Summer, I heard 6 EPL clups were chasing him, including 2 big clubs. Rumor said one of them was Woolwich. It was more or less Yang's decision to join Tottenham, probably because of Son. In a bad scenario, he is shit and we lose £3M. The worst scenario could have been that he joins Woolwich or other big club and become a star player.

They won't understand you even if you make sense. Its just how they are.

Might be good. Might be amazing. Might be shocking. £3m is chump change though isn’t it. You can bet if he went elsewhere and was mustard fans would be asking why we weren’t after him.
100% this — Yang’s transfer fee is LESS THAN HALF our bald cunt Chairman’s annual wage. So Chump F’in Change is damn right.

So who cares if it was a cynical move. WTF are people on about? Levy probably spent more on the stupid logo re-design FFS.

Will he be joining up soon?

Technically in January (probably 2nd as 1st is a uk bank holiday) as under fifa regs he cannot be transferred outside of a transfer window and after he reached age of 18 (16th April 2024),

Various sources suggest he'll he at Spurs in December, after no doubt a holiday break after completing a full season in K League. no doubt to settle into a new culture, a new home and to get to know his new team mates etc Korean teen Yang Min-hyeok to join Tottenham 1 month ahead of schedule in December

Scored this morning in a 1-0 win which I think is the last game in the k-league

Final total I think is 12 goals and 5 assists in 38 appearances, so a goal involvement in just over 1 every 2nd game.

Very decent stats for a young winger. Obviously K League opposition is closer to League 1 than PL, so we should not expect overnight success (just like Bergvall for instance), but very promising

Got a nice Europa game @ the end of Jan that might be a good chance of being a first start maybe.

Kulu played at Juventus. Yang did not.
Is that really a sensical comparison?

Its not a fair comparison.

Yang is just 18.

Kulusevski moved from Sweden to Atalanta (Italy) at age 18 or 19
and then Kulusevski joined Juventus aged 20
following which Kulusevski joined Spurs aged 22 after making about 90 appearances as a professional in Italy.

So Yang is now in a similar position to Kulusevski when he joined Atalanta,

Yang is a highly talented young player highly regarded in Korean League (which is ranked in the world similarly to Swedish league) who Spurs hope will be as successful in the future as Kulusevski is today (and if earlier, even better !).

Dejan was just turned 16 when he moved to Bergamo to join Atalanta.

But yes, the comparisons aren't fair for Yang.

I'd imagine that most big clubs don't scour east Asia for talented youngsters just yet. We've only recently started to see teams in the top 5 leagues regularly sign South American wunderkids without them making a pitstop in the Netherlands or Portugal first.

We would have needed to register him in EL squad as an overseas player back in September for him to play in EL in Jan (as he cannot qualify as a List B player).

Getting Spence in there and registered is more important at the business end of the Europa Lg.

Said in another thread, but I'd drop both Richy & Odobert out of the EL squad in Jan (*) to make room for Spence and another LB..... Son, BJ, Kulu, Werner, Solanke, Lankshire & Moore will have to suffice in that comp. As we reach the knock-outs we'll want to go strong anyway so rotate as required in the league to make that happen.

(*We can't count on them to be fit to play and cannot afford dead squad spots which leave other positions light.)

I'd wait until much later (next EL squad will not be updated until start of Feb after Jan transfer window is closed).before making definite decisions.

But given what we THINK we know about Odobert and Richarlison injuries now, I'd drop one or both of them from EL squad to get a full back into EL squad (and the full back may be Spence)..... it might be a month or two after Feb before they return from injury (or not)

However we cannot expect to win EL with only 4 forwards (Solanke, Son, Johnson, Werner) possibly counting Kulusevski as well and if Lankshear and Moore continue to progress ...... so we may need to consider a new forward in January rather than a full back (maximum 2 changes to EL squad allowed in Feb) if both Richarlison and Odobert are long term injuries. And bringing in another forward probably only makes sense if Werner's loan is definitely ending in summer. .

Even if we get to EL final, I think there are a maximum of 7 games left in EL after next squad announced, so one additional full back such as Spence and the versatile CB/LB Ben Davies is probably enough

PL squad has slightly different rules and hence dynamics ....... and with domestic cups as well we have 20+ games from January to plan a squad round, but that may mean having one or two players in PL squad who are not in EL squad which is never popular nor understood .by fans
