Player Mohammed Kudus

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah, obviously I'm a massive Richy fan and he's cult hero here now IMO. One of the best characters and also most underrated players we've had but he just can't stay fit so asking him to handle a PL and CL campaign would be a crazy gamble. I think he could manage 1 game a week for Everton but the travel schedule would break him twice a week.

I like Wissa but not sure I'd do that tbh. If it was me and I was serious about challenging to win, I'd do this:

Sell
Son
Richy

Sign
Xavi Simons to play LWF and 10

Move
Tel to CF
Odobert to LWF with Simons

Keep
Scarlett as the 3rd striker for one more season.

I get that is ambitious but we don't need back ups or rotation pieces imo, we need players that make the starting 11 better or push the starting player to keep their spot.
I'm with you, pal...but Xavi Simons is never happening unfortch. Neither is Osimhen. That's what a proper big club with genuine ambition would do. But Levy's Spurs...Tel & Kudus are our marquee signings.

My LW would be Xavi Simons (or Nico, Barcola..) and Sonny as his deputy, with the kid Mikey getting plenty mins in domestic cups, 'easy' PL & CL games.

At the CF position I would've Osimhen as the starter and Solanke as his backup. Scarlett/Lanks getting good mins here or there.

RW we would be okay with Kudus (could move to AM when Mads is inevitably out) and Brennan (who could also play up top when switching to 4-4-2). Mikey to cover if need be.

Don't sign Tel (too late, regrettably), sell Richy, sell Odobert, sell Kulu.

1 most of them are on low ish wages compared to their price tag

2 Clubs at the top end like Man City will will get the pick of the 40-60m players as they want to go to win stuff.

In short yes we pay big transfer fees but desire and wages mean we are often limited to the less quality ones. It’s like us with future stars, we can bully the likes of Brentford with Archie Gray and they are left with whoever else. We are perfect club for the range of talented young upstarts, less so for seasoned elites.
The wages is a good point.

But I am not convinced that consistently spending big on good but not great PL players is the strategy that this club needs.

Buying PL players is a safe option because we know they can play at this level, but it doesn't provide the same upside as foreign or less experienced players. We should be targeting to be a top 4 club in the PL and City, Woolwich and Liverpool are going to attract the best PL players over Tottenham. That leaves us with the players that those clubs don't want, and we still end up paying 50+ million for them. We will never buy a world class player this way.

I would rather buy multiple players like Bergvall, Vuskovic, and Gray instead of spending so much on Richy, BJ, Solanke and maybe Kudus.

We are going to be a mid table side if we just fill the squad with decent players. The rest of the league is too good and too wealthy.

We were in for him prior to his move to West Ham iirc.

He’s always looked good whenever I’ve seen him play. Pretty excited by this one especially considering Frank’s ability to get the best out of his forwards.

I think you can also argue he was played out of position last season. According to Transfermarkt, in 23/24 he played at RW 25 times and LW 10 times, but 24/25 he only played RW 6 times, RM twice but LW 9 times and LM twice.

Maybe, if Frank sees him that way, playing Kudus almost exclusively on the right will get that 23/24 version out of him more often
