Player Mohammed Kudus

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Weren’t most of his assists corners? We actually started playing better football when Odobert came in instead of Kudus. Bentancur

Were we getting more points per game? Feels like an obvious no here.

As far as I can see, all his assists were open play. Odobert xA per 90 is like 0.11 vs Kudus’ of around 0.27. This idea Odobert is anywhere near as good is so silly.

Kudus is very flawed but he is a man. He can beat a man, he can get a ball in. Odobert is a fucking mouse. He’s insanely timid and he doesn’t contribute anywhere near enough in the final third.

We miss Kudus. I am not a huge fan of him, but he is significantly better than the non entities we have otherwise. This is just a fact, backable by all the numbers we have available.

Completely lost any sort of control without him in midfield. I’m sure other players were missing in that period too.

We could do with him now as we’re so short of options but I think he’s a terrible player to have In a functioning team. If his head down dribbling threatens teams in behind, could put up with his decision making but he carries the ball in circles in field. apart from Brentford when he was playing up against a cb out of position he cant actually beat anyone on the outside and go direct. Terrible scouting and signing. Hope we can flip him
No.

And even when he's not getting assists, he's occupying defenders.
The likes of Tel, Solanke and Muani basically just give the ball to the opposition. They're hardly even worth marking most of the time.

Yeah that's fair, it just shows where we are as a club, Kudus or Odobert...very sad state of affairs.

it wasn’t the exact same team just without Kudus. Different opponents. Lot of variables. The start of the season the results were not reflecting the underlying numbers as a few posters on here were pointing out.

Thought there was a few from corners. Open play ones I can only remember the 2 against Burnley, miss hit deflected shot against Brighton.

Don’t think Odobert is great. He disappears in games but when he gets involved he links well with players around him, he can take players on vertically on the outside as well. He’s got a chance of being a good player. Kudus hasn’t. Completely flawed. Hes strong and got a good first touch so can hold it up back to goal. I’ll give him that. That’s his only good attribute imo

2 of his assists were from corners in the league.

In Odoberts 6 appearances at RW filling in for Kudus (completed 90 mins twice, had a 25' cameo and then 35' when he did his ACL) he had 3 assists. Consistently looked to get the ball in early. He was far more effective. Kudus has more talent, but rarely does the right thing and defences were able to reset when he decided it necessary to stand up his man 50 times.

He's God awful and I hope we get rid at the earliest available opportunity.

Lol you're wasting your time, every time this guy is asked to back something up he can't do it as he knows it's BS and then try and deflect and put it back on you...:davieshmm:
He's a travesty of a poster tbf. Literally just lies to make a point, an absolute mess.

I thought I was too harsh on him when I mocked his username and he proceeded to cry and get emotional but the geezer actually talks shit and lies to prove a point.

It's perfectly possible that Kudus was simultaneously a terrible buy that sums up everything that's wrong with Spurs' transfer strategy AND also one of our best players when actually on the pitch. :cautious:

Agree with that. The transfer fee is (mostly) club PR. The real value is within the wages per week
I’m not so sure about that. You know generally that the higher the wage, the higher the fee (exceptions obviously). Paying someone £10m pa probably means you’ve spent at least £50m on them. Plus maybe another £10m on agent fees. Legal costs, home moving, shit like that.

Big jump from £200k per week to £110m over five years. Even bigger when whichever useless fucking lump we’ve bought gets injured and is out for a year and we have to do the same thing again.

Just the Deranger-in -chief's final nutty frenzied throes as he tries to come to terms with the fact he got what he wanted and we're almost down. 🤷‍♂️

Me when I realise I’m not even the Deranger-in-chief.

Awful signing from day one. West Ham bummed us big time.

Even if he'd stayed fit, we'd still be shit and going down.

Fuck him. He can jog the fuck on.

1) Was he fuck our best player. The tactics of the great Thomas Frank was spam it to him, and instead of doing the right thing, he stood the ball up and tried beat his man 20x before smashing into the first man, or its easily dealt with because his show boating allows teams to get back into a defensive shape. It's easy to pad stats when you have by far the most usage. A whopping 24% cross completion.
Odobert on that wing, on the short sample size was far more effective than Kudus was because he did the right things early, and he's not as good a footballer, but Kudus has no football IQ. Complete showpony.

2) Acting like a baby when subbed for being absolutely dung. Refusing to get surgery to play at the world cup, while sitting out the remaining games with us. Numerous reports of him wanting out, Ali Gold saying he's a part of the group that's disrupting training.

3) We spent far too much on him, far too big a wage. He'll probably get injured at the world cup, need surgery and we don't get money for him and have to pay him silly wages while we're in the Championship.

3 for 3. Fair play.
Curious about this mate....what was all this
