Watching MoTD2 on Catch up and waiting for the Craven Cottage horror show

OMG Wayne Rooney as a "pundit", embarrassing

Makes no sense at all

cant they find some footie journos who actaully understand what they see

It doesn't help how many people say "in order to be a pundit you have to have played the game", except the vast majority of footballers are thick as mince.

They should actually get successful ex-managers. Those are the players who were smart enough, could read the game well enough, to get the managerial jobs - their opinions would be much better than someone who was a great player but couldn't tell you why.

Caragher, Murphy, Rooney, Bent, Merson etc all there because they played the game, and all are doing a great job of showing how that doesn't make them good pundits.

Martin O'Neill is a good example of someone who makes a better pundit, but isn't good for the "cool image" like more recently retired players. The kids haven't heard of him so he won't make people watch.

Ex Managers vs Ex Players

Ex Managers wouldn't tarnish their legacy with talking absolute cunting rubbish for hours cos they got the big bucks.

Players are self absorbed, vanity projects within themselves.

Remind me the last time you saw a manager in an advert selling shite to people? except José :D

No because 'Journos' have become nothing more than Tweeters or write for a rag that recycles bullshit to put the cat among the canaries for AdSense.
