Redknapp was a massive step up, of course. Like Thelonius says the situations are completely different anyway, because at this moment, any of the likely managers we could bring in would represent a much bigger risk to our current ambitions than bringing in Redknapp to drag us back up the table did.
If he's gone to England, I'd have been happy to see a Rodgers or Martinez etc come in and see what happens. But he hasn't, and realistically, Rodgers or Martinez having another year at their clubs would presumably be a positive thing, if we were indeed to eventually hire one of them.
