Does anyone believe without the patronage of Lewis he would still be in a job . Let’s just look at the post Poch era

3 manager hires that were a mixture of unsuccessful and / or toxic
Dodgy due diligence on DOF hire , if there even was any .
Appalling player recruitment
Appalling record on selling underperforming players
Pathetic record on youth
A series of PR disasters
A world class player we wasted and will likely leave
The club is now a laughing stock on almost all forms of media
A salary package that is reflective of massive success not failure
A team undoubtedly needing a refresh 5 years ago yet a number of players remain
Sacking our best manager since Burkinshaw

So should he still be in a job ?

Levy and Lewis are both compliant in all this. I'm sure all the major decisions have to be approved by Lewis. They have to do the right thing and fucking sell this club and give someone else the opportunity to bring some joy back to the place.

Mate , I'm a Celtic fan and certainly hope Spurs don't get him 😂😂
I'm just amazed at the disrespect being thrown at him ...to be fair when he arrived at Celtic, we were underwhelmed to say the least...then we started to listen... The guy is an outstanding manager
How is he outstanding? 2 points in 6 matches in the CL, finishing bottom of their group below Shaktar Donesk. Winning the scottish league with celtic is not a big deal if theyve been winning it almost every single year anyway.

Really really hope we dont get him. We are really shit right now, but that is just throwing in the towel, almost as bad as appointing Mason.

What does this make Hodgson?

And he has done absolutely nothing at Celtic that Rodgers didn't. Rodgers won 3 back to back domestic trebles and didn't go into the champions league and set a record of being the WORST team at the group stages in the history of the competition.

Winning the league at Celtic is like winning in Fifa on the easiest setting. It's the single most one sided team in probably any top league in the world including Franfe.

Most Celtic fans rate Ange alot higher. Which says something considering the success Rodgers had there.

He also has the second best win percentage of any manager in the clubs history. Plays alot better football and is alot more likeable too.

Again, when comparing leagues dominated by a team or two. It's crucial you look at their COACHING. Not particularly results over a season or what they've won. Their ability to coach.

There's a difference comparing a Rodgers Celtic team to a Neil Lennon Celtic team for example. Same when it comes to a De Boer Ajax team and a ten Hag one. Or a Galtier’s PSG team and an Emery one.

Then you have to ask yourself a question. What sort of manager do you want right now at Spurs? What do we need?

Do we need someone quite likeable right off the bat? Someone who can get the fans back onside? Be grateful to be here? But also have a track record of improving players, getting the best out of them, good coaching across many different teams?

Or do we want a fucking idiot that no one in the fanbase really wants?

We'll soon be left with noone lol! It's fair enough too when you think about it. We have hords of fans just waiting to rip the shit out of anyone that dares to represent our club.

He is also the manager that took them to two 5th place finishes and an Fa cup win.
Yeah don’t forget they were 4th going into the last game of the season for both those 5th place finishes.

Winning a cup comp can’t really be used as a barometer - Moyes is potentially going to win the Euro farmers for the Spammers. Martinez won the FA cup and relegated Wigan in the same season. McLeish with Birmingham.

You are as good as your last season - so relegation good

I think you will find most would be happy with Nagelsmann, Slot, Amorim - Poch although not universal, would be popular.

Pretty faaacking clear though that other than a few mentalists on here, we don’t want Rodgers and Harry Potter would be underwhelming.

Ange would be a huge risk

It was always Poch, Naglesmann, De Zerbi, Kompany and Slot for me. Any of those 5 then great. I'd have been interested to see what Alonso could do as well so i really dont see this as us being fussy. I think the vast majority would have been happy with any of them. But apparently we're terrible fans and should be grateful for whatever shit sandwich is served up.

But he's managing a team that are 11th.
In their defense they have played great football but underperformed in front of goal.

Artur Cabral, their main scorer, has been streaky. Scored a grouple of games in a row and then a few games without scoring. And Luka Jovic has mainly found the net in Europe.

They've also juggled a cup final run and Italiano's first ever European campaign.

Bottled 4th on both those 4th place finishes.

Rodgers is also old and on the way down.

Would make a joke out of everything that's been said about appointing a young manager.
Rodgers is younger than Poch, Guardiola , Klopp, Emery and not that much older than Slot or De Zerbi or Howe for example. They are not exactly spring chickens

Who said we are appointing a young manager?

Bottled 4th place finishes with Leicester. Not with Man City. Let's have a bit of perspective and say he did well to have them competing for a top 4 place and he did win the Fa cup with them. Wouldnt we love an Fa cup win?

I just don't understand why so many people are quick to dismiss someones achievements. It was the same with Eddie Howe. He did a fantastic job at Bournemouth, actually remarkable how he took them from the lower leagues all the way to the PL and established them as a PL club, all while playing attractive football too. However it ended badly and they got relegated. That didn't make him a bad manager, so many Spurs fans laughed at the thought he could ever manage us a few years ago but look at him now and what he is doing at Newcastle.

There is too much snobbery around this place, yes we have a nice stadium and training facilities but come on that doesn't mean we are too big for a Howe or for a Rodgers etc....... its embarrassing tbh

Yes, at the time BUT last three managers appointed were all out of work at the time.

The old (younger) Levy had a bit of ambition, the new (older) Levy is a cowardly tight cunt that has zero clue on how to run a football club.
But you can flip the coin over and he's paid +£10m to Poch whilst put on gardening leave, £14m to Nuno, £20m to Jose and £4m to Conte (rounded up that's £50m in compensation to managers following Poch sacking).
