Should also be looking at Thomas Frank in the summer. And he can bring Ivan Toney with him as far as I'm concerned.

They're out there, for sure, but my biggest problem is that this club has no idea what it wants to be. I thought that some of this would maybe get fixed with Paratici, but the vision seem to be even more hazy than before.
Let's the honest, the supporters are sick and tired of waiting for some type of accomplishment and that makes any type of "project" manager a hard sell. Mason did well enough but nobody was willing to give him the reigns. Nuno was theoretically another project manager even though he had more experience and he was behind the 8-ball from the start and completely bombed.
With Conte, I appreciate that the club was trying to bring on someone who could push us over that hurdle, but frankly we weren't ever truly in alignment. It was just a bad fit if ENIC was never going to hold up their part of what Conte requires.
I'm frankly 100% okay with a project at this point, but IF that's the direction we're going to go then I think we need to do it fearlessly. That's hard for a club of our size as the risk is substantial if it doesn't work, but I just want a vision and I want us to follow it relentlessly. Want a project? Fine, do it and go ALL IN on from the top of the organization all they way down to the youth teams. Want to go the elite route? Fine, just start prepping for financial losses for the next three years.
I'm just so tired of not knowing any longer what this club wants to be and having no idea what we're trying to do. I hope I don't get banned for this, but look at woolwich last season. While the entire world was laughing at them they persisted with a vision and its worked out pretty well. We just make it up as we go along every 12-18 months.
God I don’t even want to picture Simeone at SpursWe should keep him but he'll probably walk. We'll get Pochettino or it also wouldn't surprise me if we moved for Simeone although that is another similar manager to Conte and Jose and would end the exact same way.
One rogue shout that I'm definitely not saying just cause I'm Australian... Ange Postecoglou.
His team are 4th in a league with 3 good clubs of his club is one.
Poch let his PSG team control him and none of the players listened to himHis team are 4th in a league with 3 good clubs of his club is one.
Does any club really have a strategy per se?
Look at our squad at the present time.
For me we need another front player but arguably with our 5, now Gil is gaining some game time, it's just one more unless we say bye to Son.
We need another midfielder plain as day, a first choice goalie and 2 players in the back.
The issue is everyone thinks it has to be the objective best player in the world and yet nobody knows that is.
We need additions but without the right mentality we ain't doing nothing, however much money is pumped into the club.
Our biggest need is character.
Absolutely, there are many teams that have a strategy, a way in which they are going to build the team and what type of football they want to be. Not every team does, but the difference in the better ones is that they generally do. And there are some teams that aren't solely built on character, but it's definitely part of their recruiting process.
We aren't a lock-down defensive team, but we aren't an exciting attacking team. We aren't a team/club built on youth, but we aren't a team that is willing to invest in proven winners and talent either. We aren't in a project phasing building towards something, but we have regularly bought players for the future while we probably most need ready-made starters that can impact a game immediately.
What we have done becomes a negative, downward spiral.
I just want to see a clear direction. Invest in and back Conte, or just fire him now and move on with a less expensive/riskier/longer project. I'm fine but I just don't want any more of the bullshit we've seen since we let Poch go.
- Fire coach due to decline in performance in the team.
- Hire coach with no apparent "fit" with the direction of the club.
- Coaches come in and have to squeeze more juice out of the lemon, and the club isn't willing to invest into players quickly enough to support the coach because we don't want to invest too heavy in case they don't work out.
- The coach isn't able to work with the combination of players we have to successfully implement their vision.
- We buy players for the future.
- Performances decline and club won't invest anything further because we need to wait to see what next manager wants/needs.
- Repeat at step 1.
Yeah we bet on Kane and Son which was a reasonable bet to make but we have to accept it hasn't worked and we now need to go in another direction.A few years ago, we found ourselves in the position of having a couple of world class players - Modrid and Bale. They were enough to make us good enough to battle for top 4, but the players around them weren't of the same level.
We chose to sell them to fund a rebuild of the squad and improve the overall quality. A couple of seasons later and we were regulars in the Top 4 with a young squad and taking full advantage of rebuilds by the other top teams.
Once again, we were nearly men, and not quite good enough to get it over the line.
Rather than repeat the turbulent post Bale / Modric seasons, we chose to retain our best players and apply sticky tape solutions around them. Gradually replacing established players with punts on up-and-coming young players.
The club keeps asking our coach to build around Kane and Son - something that hasn't worked in the past, and we continue to give them lower quality players to work with.
Paratici needs to be signing players for a mould of manager, not Conte, who is clearly waiting for the next job. He doesn't care about the Spurs project, if he did he'd have extended months ago.
Imagine playing under a coach who you know is about to leave unless the club buys better players to replace you. No apparent willingness to improve the players.
Yes the bigger picture is Levy's/ENIC's fault but Conte's position is very close to untenable.
We are two weeks away from an acceptance that he's not extending; just imagine playing out the season with a dead duck manager.
Winks is fit again and Alli would be available, so....
We could bring in prime Alex Ferguson and the same shit would apply. When are people going to wake up and realise the problem is and always has been the board
