We'll soon be left with noone lol! It's fair enough too when you think about it. We have hords of fans just waiting to rip the shit out of anyone that dares to represent our club.

Correct. Some of our fans are waiting to pounce, whoever is appointed.

If it were Guardiola or Klopp, the accusation would be they were past their best..

Rodgers is younger than Poch, Guardiola , Klopp, Emery and not that much older than Slot or De Zerbi or Howe for example. They are not exactly spring chickens

Who said we are appointing a young manager?

Bottled 4th place finishes with Leicester. Not with Man City. Let's have a bit of perspective and say he did well to have them competing for a top 4 place and he did win the Fa cup with them. Wouldnt we love an Fa cup win?

I just don't understand why so many people are quick to dismiss someones achievements. It was the same with Eddie Howe. He did a fantastic job at Bournemouth, actually remarkable how he took them from the lower leagues all the way to the PL and established them as a PL club, all while playing attractive football too. However it ended badly and they got relegated. That didn't make him a bad manager, so many Spurs fans laughed at the thought he could ever manage us a few years ago but look at him now and what he is doing at Newcastle.

There is too much snobbery around this place, yes we have a nice stadium and training facilities but come on that doesn't mean we are too big for a Howe or for a Rodgers etc....... its embarrassing tbh
I've thought Rodgers from the start.

I am not saying that was what I wanted.

Rodgers is experienced and at a stage in his career where his next job will probably be the defining one.

He will either live up to some of his better, earlier promise or get flushed down the toilet.

He kind of needs the Spurs job and I suspect we are now entering into a narrative where Spurs will need Rodgers.

I think Levy sorted this out months ago.

The show that has been prevailing is for the hacks, journos and spivs to earn their filthy lucre.

The only thing I can see preventing it from leftfield is a sale of the club and change of ownership.

I think anyone who’d done what Poch did with the squad , champions league final & then was treated as he was would be fed up & think “ what’s the point?”

If he’d have been backed when he should have I doubt we’d be where we are today . As the septic turnip said “ Time will tell if it was the right decision “ it wasn’t , another colossal fuck up , that's set us back years with an aging squad

He was backed that summer with his signings Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon and we are still paying the price.

Anyway he had had enough, he was simply exhausted and finished after the CL final and the previous 4 seasons, new stadium, playing at Wembley etc. He literally had nothing more to give and the break up was correct for both parties. Unfortunately because we have a moron chairman we've gone backwards since Poch left

Yeah don’t forget they were 4th going into the last game of the season for both those 5th place finishes.

Winning a cup comp can’t really be used as a barometer - Moyes is potentially going to win the Euro farmers for the Spammers. Martinez won the FA cup and relegated Wigan in the same season. McLeish with Birmingham.

You are as good as your last season - so relegation good

That's rubbish tbf

You see no issue from going from Conte to Brendan?

Deary me

Fuck's he got to do with anything?

FWIW I'd take Hodgson over Rodgers.
I'm convinced, sign him up! :bentancurpoint:

If Levy does want to keep on the Italian track as some rumours are saying, and Inter really are stupid and let Inzaghi go. Then he is the man we should go to.

Uses a formation that our players are used to. But with more attacking focus.

Go for the young and exciting school of Italian coaches rather than the has beens.

Most Celtic fans rate Ange alot higher. Which says something considering the success Rodgers had there.

He also has the second best win percentage of any manager in the clubs history. Plays alot better football and is alot more likeable too.

Again, when comparing leagues dominated by a team or two. It's crucial you look at their COACHING. Not particularly results over a season or what they've won. Their ability to coach.

There's a difference comparing a Rodgers Celtic team to a Neil Lennon Celtic team for example. Same when it comes to a De Boer Ajax team and a ten Hag one. Or a Galtier’s PSG team and an Emery one.

Then you have to ask yourself a question. What sort of manager do you want right now at Spurs? What do we need?

Do we need someone quite likeable right off the bat? Someone who can get the fans back onside? Be grateful to be here? But also have a track record of improving players, getting the best out of them, good coaching across many different teams?

Or do we want a fucking idiot that no one in the fanbase really wants?
Gallardo then!

Correct, if we had 3 options:

Sol Campbell
Frank Lampard
Brenny

Then I would choose Brent - other than that he is the worst option - I would take Mason over him, heck I would take gravy tits Allardyce over him
This is absolutely daft. Mason would get us relegated. He's probably less useful than Lampard.
What exactly has Rodgers done to bring on such irrational dislike?
His sides always try to play good football, and he has a record of actually improving teams.
Bottled 4th on both those 4th place finishes.

Rodgers is also old and on the way down.

Would make a joke out of everything that's been said about appointing a young manager.
Bottled 4th or over achieved getting 5th?
Small squads with only a few decent players.
In 19/20 they also got the league Cup semi and fa cup quarter finals, so a decent number of games and had a go in the cups
20/21 won the FA Cup, got to the knock out stages of the ropey league.

At any point, at Swansea, Liverpool, Celtic or Leicester did anyone complain about the style of the football?

Maybe you need to open your mind a bit, as there are many worse options than Rodgers. We could get another Nono or the next De Boer. And with Levy, it could actually be one of those.

The only issue I have is with the owners and that they should sell up and move on.......the rest is just noise and we will just keep going round in circles but getting nowhere.

Rodgers is a good manager and his teams play attractive football. He won't do any worse than any of the other managers we are linked with. Under these owners we have a ceiling which we can't break through, they don't have the vision, plan or patience to take this club any further than where we are.

In their defense they have played great football but underperformed in front of goal.

Artur Cabral, their main scorer, has been streaky. Scored a grouple of games in a row and then a few games without scoring. And Luka Jovic has mainly found the net in Europe.

They've also juggled a cup final run and Italiano's first ever European campaign.
All I meant was they seem to be having a crapier season than us.
