Nuno was sacked with a record of 5 wins , 5 defeats

That was deemed unacceptable just a few short years ago

Now it's ok to lose 7 in 15 , have 9 defeats out of last 15 away , one clean sheet at home in about 30 odd games

Our standards have completely eroded in the last couple of years
But what matters is the entertaining, attacking football, not the results. DNA and all

It's obvious why he was fired, we were going nowhere fast under him and that's even with we had prime Kane and Son, Ange is posting up far better underlying numbers than Nuno could muster.

Anyway it was never going to work because he was hired to be a placeholder at Spurs so pointless even really seeing him as part of some long term plan, we panicked because we couldn't find a manager cause we fucked up the search, Conte turned us down and he was available, he was never going to last.

Not the underlying numbers

Not the underlying numbers

This you?

My issue with Nuno isn't because of results. In terms of just that he's done fine. The problem is we're near the bottom for chances created and for pressing statistics, so we're continuing the trend of being a passive, defence minded side. Pochettino didn't do fantastically well results wise first season (and had some very bad players to work with) but we were working hard and trying to play an attractive brand of football.

And we've underperformed now under 3 managers (poch in his final season and a half, Mourinho and now Nuno) so at that point you have to question the squad itself. We have two very good players in Kane and Son, beyond that there isn't that much quality. Roma are a reasonably talented squad too, especially with Abraham filling that Dzeko void.

But hey, it's all opinions. I'd love for us to meet them in the final.

Check your mirrors yeah

You should have backed the manager shady

Sounds like you threw in the towel very early

lol and whenever we actually come out on the wrong side of the numbers (Rangers, Bournemouth and Galatasaray the only games I can think of this season), then they are quick to talk about performance and how we were outplayed. But the numbers don't matter when we've been on top in nearly all other games!

When you only choose to look at numbers in some games and ignored them in others than that is an agenda.

Oh no shady has posted contextless garbage again thinking it’s some gotcha … I wonder if that password will be forgotten again by Monday.

Our results AND performances were crap under Nuno. Mostly our results AND performances have been crap this season under Ange. We have highly deceptive ‘underlying numbers’ because guess what? We destroy some teams and then are useless in other games.

Check most of our numbers in some of our defeats and draws lol. They weren’t that good at all. Bournemouth, Fulham, Newcastle, Chelsea, Gala, Palace all deserved to beat us. And the xG vs Leicester, Ipswich, Roma etc was NOT that good either!!!

We stacked ‘underlying numbers’ in massacres and then some of you want to pretend we are just getting unlucky.

This season we played well vs Everton, United, City, Villa, Brentford, West Ham and Southampton. And we got 3 points in all those games.

The issue is we only play well HALF the time, not that we are getting unlucky. The underlying numbers make us look much better than we actually are because they only reflect us half the time.

Yeah I aint reading all this bro, you're doing way too much with paragraphs n shit 😆

Take the L and just allow it - this is what you're looking for:

That context on NES goes both ways, he was undermined from day one by not being wanted by Levy and Paratici in the first place. Hamstrung in not being free to play your preferred system is a pretty huge dead weight.
He is 100% better qualified and has been given far less largesse than Ange Postecoglou. Would I swap them is an irrelevance neither would have passed what I believe should be our criteria for getting the Spurs job. But when he writes his memoirs it will be fascinating to get his perspective.
