There isn't a Spurs DNA.

It's got nothing to do with microbiology.

Just play better football and win more matches, no need for using buzzword terms that businessmen use at corporate motivation events.
Don’t mean to be pedantic but DNA is more in the field of genetics and molecular biology, whereas microbiology is the study of micro-organisms, such as bacteria, viruses and Jose Dominguez.

Sky Sports pushing out that Nuno was at least 5th choice and we got turned down by loads of other managers.

FFS Show some respect..... If not to us, towards Nuno. It's bang out of order.
I think they're bigging him up, he was a lot further down the list than that.

Naggelsman, Ten Hag, Conte, Lopetegui, Fonseca, Gattuso, Potter who knows who else turned us down.

ETH, Conte, Fonseca, Gattuso and Potter didn’t turn us down though so why are you acting like the mouthpiece of The Sun

for the first 2 years that Wolves were in the premier no one liked playing them because of the way Nuno set them. Wolves were great and punching above their weight.

Lets get behind him. Next season is going to be tough given how late he has come in so we need to give him leeway. I’m excited now! Let’s build!

Now the dust has settled on the drama of the appointment phase we needn't consider ourselves drastically behind any other top team in terms of pre-season. Cogs were evidently turning in terms of scouting/recruitment anyway and whether they're all still on hols or at the Euros; none of the players are back yet. So long as Nuno & Paratici spend the remaining time locked away cramming over the squad re-vamp plans we shouldn't be at too much of a disadvantage.

He's a stopgap appointment. Until our finances get back on track, ENIC sell or a better manager like Poch becomes available.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Potter would've been more of a gamble but potentially he really could've done well at Spurs, even under Levy. Maybe in a couple of years!

For now, we can sort of relax, enjoy the Euros and hope for a better season than last.

I absolutely hated the decision to bring in Nuno and didn't want to watch a single second of Nunoball but here I am jumping on the Nuno bandwagon changing my vote to yes. What supporting Spurs does to me...

Forca Nuno!

Conte wanted to come here until Levy showed that we had no ambition.

Fundamental question: How much money to Conte 'demand' for transfers each season?

Ok, there was the side-story about coaches, but the above is obviously what it boiled down to (coaches are an insignificant expense by comparison).

I can't help thinking back to his stint with the Chavs.... First season he spent approaching 200m and then moaned that he couldn't have the same the following summer.

If he was expecting the same per year here that's simply not feasible; no matter how much #ambition Levy shows.

Wolves fan:
Jota was wildly inconsistent. Only really played as striker during the 352 days between 2nd January 2019 and October 2019.

At the point of sale he had been completely dropped from the first team, Nuno was reliant on Neto.

Championship season he only turned up for half a season, 1st season in prem he didn't get going until he scored Vs Chelsea in December time, then petered out around February.
2nd season in prem, didn't get going, scored back to back hat tricks in Europa League then disappeared and fell over himself whenever he went 1v1.

He's incredibly streaky, and was sold by Nuno as he preferred Neto and Podence out wide.

And yes, it was a choice sale, Liverpool paid 4.5M up front for him, if we were pushed into the sale for financial reasons we'd have asked for lower fee and more up front.

Had to sign up to counter some of the statements you are making on here. Everything you've posted has been with a negative slant. Completely glossing over all the fantastic work Nuno did for 3-4 years.

For example, he turned Coady, a plodding Championship midfielder into a Premier League defender and England international. He can probably transform Dier into a world-beater.

Jota might have been streaky but he scored 44 goals in 133 appearances at Wolves, basically 1 in 3. You make it sound like he hardly played.

Few positives for Spurs fans. Nuno's record against Woolwich Won 3, Drew 2, Lost 1. Chelsea Won 3, Drew 2, Lost 1.

He'll have a system in place in no time and you won't be pushovers against any of the top six.

Good luck next season anyway. I'm looking forward to seeing how Nuno gets on 👍

Are you Wolves too, fella?

Cheers, thanks for the positivity.

It's funny........ Its as if everyone knows for a fact that all these managers were offered the job and turned US down!!!!

Doesn't anyone think that we might have cast our net high and wide to interview these managers.... But after the interviews it was actually Spurs decision not to proceed? And we turned them down?

People in this thread are acting as if we offered the job to multiple managers (when we probably didn't) and those managers turned us down..... When it's probably far more likely we said "thanks for coming, but you're not what we're after...."

An alternative statement from our esteemed chairman.

"First of all I'd like to reluctantly welcome Nuno , our 14th choice, to the business. We should like to thank our client reference numbers, mugs and peasants for all their patience through this farce. I've lied already about the need to revert to our core DNA of playing attacking, entertaining football and I believe Nuno is the mug who can take our average group of players, promote our youth players and build something mediocre on the cheap."

An honest, open statement like that would have at least garnered some respect among our success starved, ridiculed, downtrodden fanbase

Yes. Nuno's the best manager we've had in 40 years. I guess everyone's view is based on his last season, which is how it goes in football.

It wasn't great but there were a lot of mitigating factors. The work he did before then was fantastic and we were in a European QF only 10 months ago.

The football is not really similar to Mourinho's at all either. It is risk-averse sometimes (how much that was to do with us being newly promoted I'm not sure) but there's definitely a focus on building from the back, possession and switching play to the flanks. As well as "laying traps" without the ball then countering quickly.

It all fizzled out last season but I think he could do great things with your squad.
