No
He was a fool to join Barcelona when he did.

He was onto something big with the Dutch team, I genuinely think he could have won the Euros with them had he stayed. They were flying under him.

He’s had too many poor stints at clubs in his career for us to consider him, IMO.
no way! Just pay conte what he needs if we are going to be defensive with this twat in charge at least do it with a winner and some one who ain’t gonna take shot ftom anyone.

This isn't good.

Also I don't like that it's been leaked but one problem at a time.

Nuno described as ‘uncommunicative to point of being distant’

In the latest story leaked from inside the training ground, Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is described as ‘uncommunicative to the point of being distant’ without any real ‘patterns of play’.

After similar character assassinations in the tabloids, The Athletic provide a view from inside the club that does not paint Santo in a flattering light.

‘Nuno is an intelligent and thoughtful man, but he is not exactly loquacious, as he sometimes shows in his curt responses in press conferences.

‘But Nuno is not especially chatty with his players either, certainly compared to his more charismatic, outgoing predecessors. There is no small talk with players, and no real dialogue away from the training pitch.’

You might wonder why footballers need ‘small talk’ but this is clearly a problem when you follow Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho, who both had big personalities.

It is said that Santo ‘is uncommunicative to the point of being distant’, which might well translate to an issue with giving tactical instructions.

Certainly, their performance in the 3-1 defeat to Woolwich suggested that the players had no idea of their instructions.

The Tottenham boss said cryptically after the game: “I won’t name individuals who didn’t play the game plan right, but the game plan was not right according to the players who were on the pitch.”

Now an unnamed source has told The Athletic: “Nobody is quite sure what is what. It’s unclear how we’re playing. There are no patterns of play.”

Now who would leak that?

wonder if that's because we don't have eriksen now, folks are making runs but the players don't see them
Eriksen just knew where to put the ball

Doesn't explain how often they have no idea what to do when they have the ball and usually end up giving
because the players other than Kane & maybe Tanguy can't see the pass that is why they take 2 or 3 touches of the ball and look , look and look again before they try to pass the ball
Proving the point, most of them are too dim to be in a top side.
I always remember the rumours about Mark Noble being too thick to be an international. Feels like that scenario to me.

there are not many players out there that can see a pass
for us we have had in recent years Eriksen kane & maybe Toby
for us i think the players have got into this habit (muscle memory) of playing safe ball sidewards backwards

We also have players in midfield who hold on to the ball too much or pick lazy passes which slow the momentum down of the team's play. Tempo is far too lackadaisical too often and some of them have no fight whatsoever.

It's all very well turning up against some Slovenian also rans, will they do it in the league against good sides or if they go behind etc. though...

You're talking about those quality passes though. I'm talking about simple decision making. When to hold it. When to pass it short (and to who) when to dribble, when to go long.
N one ever seems to make the right choice.

sorry thought you meant those quality balls
agree with you players have that play safe passes take no chances
think that is what happened to Winks under Poch (when he came into the team Winks was a forward playing player

Yesterday did nothing for me.
We still played dull. In 3rd gear. And didn't press well or didn't play with much intensity.

Nuno is 100% the wrong man.
told you I wanted the manager out when i saw teamsheet on game in portugal in early August

we played well for first 10 mins, then went back to playing how we have since 2017/18 that lack of speed just simple safe passing no intencity

its not just this manager that we played this way, so its more than just this guy

The football is so bad that even a 5-1 win was boring! Look at us when we don't have the ball, we don't press, we don't drop back, there is no movement off the ball. The lack of energy, pace and most importantly movement is as bad as it was in 2013 under AVB but at least he tried to play a high line and dominate possession against lesser teams.

His situation is completely different to when Poch first came in because there was a football philosophy we were willing to back and he was weeding out the lazy players. Alot of key players bought into Pochettinos philosophy straight away, remember Lloris signed a 5 year contract and said in the interview it was because of the talks he had with Poch.

A similar project right now would be just the tonic for our current situation. Bring in a manager with an attacking style, who puts importance on pressing high, quick transitions and keeping the ball on the ground. Give him a 5 year contract like we did with Poch and tell the squad that we are backing his vision and if they don't like it they can leave. This "head coach" experiment has never served us well in the past, we've enjoyed most our success when we get a manager in to shape the squad as he likes and get rid of the players who don't fit his style.

I agree with that but a 5 year deal needs to be for a coach that has significant ability, a Potter or Ten Hag, not sure I would give a 5 year deal to Eddie Howe even though his football would be better.

I have a hard time believing this.
