AVB most certainly WASN'T better. Played a high line at Chavs with an ageing back 4 - the guy was tactically clueless. Completely rescued by Bale having THAT season (won the team an insane amount of points), and we still blew CL place by getting stupid injuries in Europe (Bale, Lennon Moose).
But he'd had his contract paid up in full by Abramovich, so came as a freebie.

You are probably right. Give it to Mason til the end of the season, his only task is to not get us relegated and have some shots on target in every game. Then get a proper manager in.
