Seen this loads of times and that's a challenge that is a blatant red card but because a goal is scored or it's offside that its not given! To me it doesn't even matter if it's a pen or not (I genuinely don't know the laws on that, given offside) but the challenge is still made, it's still reckless and endangered an opponent. If Pickford had punched a fan (nothing to do with phase of play) it's a red.
