He would be useless with us in the state we are in. Lo Celso and Ndombele are far better on the ball in midfield than Fernandes in term of their close control and most of our fans have issues with them, just imagine Dele Alli mark 2. Fernandes is not a big miss, we had other players like Mane and Grealish etc that where bigger errors not buying.

Fernandes is a good player but he is a specialist, he either scores goals or he does literally nothing.

Never liked him for exactly the reasons you state...and that's been since he was at Sporting. Folks are mesmerized by the goals round here though. They're quiet now and they'll forget this performance.

I wouldn't even like him in an elite team because he can so easily be marked out of a game due to his inability to resist pressure. Think about ManCity...who in their team is so incapable of finding their own time and space with the ball?
 
I'd have Tielemans over Fernandes all day, every day, despite the latter having the better "stats" in regards to goals/assists. Better all round player.
 
Imagine trying to spin that adding good players to your team is a bad thing to try and make excuses for our terrible ownership.

Or it could it be that's it's just amusing that peeps were pissing their knickers over Villa surpassing us (much like they have repeatedly done every time Everton wasted another 100m only to sack another manager, finish below us again and now find themselves in FFP strife)..... We just beat them and currently sit above them...... What's not to like?

....Similarly, seeing United struggle is a simple pleasure that most non-United fans take. Perhaps you enjoyed the "Ronaldo Returns" wank-fest? Can't say it did much for me.


...Zero consideration for our ownership in either sentiment.
