Yeah, but many of the hot-takers in this thread conveniently forget about nothing-performances like today as if putting up with Dele's disappearing act wasn't enough. They would have liked us to add another bit of nothingness because he scores the odd goal/pen. But yet they wonder why players like this and the teams with them can't get over the line. You need players that can give it for 90 not just bring the odd goal.

Anyone comparing him to De Bruyne hasn’t watched him. As I said Dele Alli at his peak is the closest player I can think of. De Bruyne’s passing, running, movement is a totally different level to Fernandes, De Bruyne can run a game, Fernandes can’t.

Fernandes I can see as being useful in an elite team providing supplementary goals from midfield, that’s what he brings, danger from deep.

He would be useless with us in the state we are in. Lo Celso and Ndombele are far better on the ball in midfield than Fernandes in term of their close control and most of our fans have issues with them, just imagine Dele Alli mark 2. Fernandes is not a big miss, we had other players like Mane and Grealish etc that where bigger errors not buying.

Fernandes is a good player but he is a specialist, he either scores goals or he does literally nothing.
