Have to go through it with a rebuild. There were probably 8 starting players missing tonight, Page has to test what else he has available. It was good for 45 minutes against a decent team. Brennan Johnson was poor, if he isn't going to do anything to help defensively then he has to do a lot more than that going forward.
Brennan Johnson poor?

What is that ? That statement doesn't compute ...

Wow...

....really surprising score when you consider the Netherlands has/had so many questions surrounding them and Iceland's perceived good performance in the previous game. Not sure this clears anything up.
Guess Netherlands didn't read the memo about it being 'perfectly fine and normal to play shit in meaningless friendlies'

Shows Southgate up a bit really and makes you question how good we really are. We've got good even great players in some positions, but there's no real evidence that were actually a good team yet.

It clears plenty up.

We (England) put in an unacceptabley shit performance despite the 'numerous positives' and 'learning opportunities'

We need to drastically improve when it really matters in the next couple of weeks.

This has been my observation about England squads for many years. In the England Squad thread I believe Zomb made a similar observation...and that is that the 'best' players are always chosen with team dynamic and gelling a secondary thought, if at all...it's the Lampard-Gerrard thing all the time...there's only 1 ball on the field so where are the water carriers to do a job and aid team cohesion?

Simple questions like 1) you want to play Foden...cool, but how do you see him gelling with Kane; or 2)Rice and Mainoo at the CM2...how's the ball going to get out of MF and whose gonna watch the backdoor? The answer to these questions is they won't, it's not, and no one. Then why put them on the field together?
