Woolwich fans already coming to the realization that Havertz/Odegaard/Rice MF isn’t gonna work well against any club that can hold possession.

Chelsea-Brighton was really great. Chelsea won 4-3, but Brighton had a red at around 60, up until then it was equal. Joao Pedro looks a player, so does Nicolas Jackson unfortunately.

Some real tackles going on in that game and played beyond a preseason pace. Enjoyed it.

Brighton were by far the better team until the sending off.

In a pre-season friendly players should just be forced into a substitution - unless its for violent conduct.

Both teams played well. Pedro for Brighton looks a handful.

They will be stupid to sell Partey. He can play as a proper number 6 in a possession team and distribute from the base of midfield, Rice isn’t that press resistant nor is he a good passer like Partey.

Rice is a player I really like but he is a better version of Hojbjerg. He is great at tracking and killing runners, he is good at breaking the line with pace, his game comes alive when the team doesn’t have the ball. He is the best version in the Premier League of a 6/8 hybrid dogs body player like Hojbjerg or Skipp.

If they player Rice, Havertz and Odegaard then they have to play a more Moyes/Jose/Simeone game. Arteta is more ‘’pragmatic’’ than Pep but he would be switching Woolwich to a more industrial team with those players.

To play a possession game they need Partey or failing that at least Jorginho at the base of midfield with Rice and either Havertz or Odegaard.

I know fans laugh at Xhaka for his red cards and the off the field issues with Partey are crazy but they are top players. If Woolwich sell both they may not be stronger than last season even with Rice, Timber and Havertz.
