Hi mate remember how you are an England International playing in La Liga?

Yeah...

Well we've got this club that are going down to the Championship interested in signing you.

Given you're in the peak of your career how does that sound to spend the next 2 years on buses to Barnsley?

... Err - Great! Let's do it!

I understand your point, but these wage caps and who needs to do what to avoid breaking them are declared once a year rather a rolling review right?

If they managed to get Aguero's wages onto the bill for the season ahead, then surely they can juggle that amount around mid-season as they wish until the numbers are reviewed again in the coming summer.......?
Not from what I've heard from multiple decent Spanish based journalists, there's a ratio they need to stick to when signing new players and removing old. Not sure what that is (I think 25%), they can use some but not all.

Agreed, but could easily be family settling in issues. It seemed like he was trying to come back in the summer (which seemed odd).

If Newcastle are the only team willing to pay that's your choice.

Fuck me... That sounds antiquated..... Will have a read around.

He'll graft for them for sure. Gotta wonder how much of a good idea it is them getting a FB who's attacking orientated.

AWB (just an example of style) would be way more fitting.
Perhaps, depends on the tactics but above all else their problem is that they don’t have any good players( :freund: )

A reliable seasoned English campaigner with a bit of quality about him who will be on the ball a lot and can perhaps elevate the level of some others is manna from heaven for that squad.

Someone in the middle of the park with the same attributes would be next. They can probably do better but both Winks and PEH would improve that side, just saying.

PEH, Rodon & Lingard and they stay up.

Fuck them though..... Helping them out shoots us in the foot in the longer term. Even if they do pay a premium on the fees..... League finishes and European placings will cover that in the coming seasons that they remain not in the mix.

In LaLiga they have a one to four rule where if you want to spend £1m on a new salary you have to get rid of £4m from another salary so following this rule they will have to manage and see how they will solve this puzzle.

Poses so many questions.....

Main one being; why?

If you're allowed a wage bill of X in Aug then why should that fluctuate if you ring some changes in Jan.

Cheers for the link tho, mate. :tanguythumb:

They are well over their wage cap and are expected to get to that cap. By being over they are essentially cheating those who keep it. This rule is in there as it shows they are working towards bringing it to the acceptable level.

In short they didn't agree the current wage (it's legacy) the agreed target is a lot lower, they used this rule to sign aguero (Messi wages) and will again for any new signing until they reach the cap.

Every summer they will look at the books and the cap may rise but if they are still above any new wages will need to be found the same way.
