Who cares? he grew up a Chelsea fans and stuck about at West Ham for a good while (last I heard he was wanting to move for the last 2 seasons) but he stuck it out and came to an agreement with West Ham that he'd leave this summer, has just had a kid and wants to stay in London also but apparently he should have gone to Man City or Bayern to make Spurs fans happy??????I wondered at the time when Rice went across to grab his little lad who was dressed in a West Ham kit and bouncing up and down in delight, how are you going to explain your move to Woolwich to him.
Rice was trying to play down the move and even suggesting he may stay at West Ham when the whole world knew he was moving on.
Was there ever a player owning a more Gooner face than Kai Havertz?

I've always really rated him, but with Lego Man's preference for proper wingers, I'm not quite sure where he fits in that team.
You are blinkered by bias. I think he is better than Cheksea have seen. Much better.

Arteta wants him to replace Xhaka, they’ll try and convert Havertz to a midfielder. Big risk at that fee.I really don't get the Havertz transfer. Rice is worth overpaying for, Havertz isn't. Why they're so keen to bail out a rival and offer a fee that surely nobody else is willing to go near is baffling. Someone at the club must really, really rate him.

Yeah.
Odegaard Rice Havertz midfield.

He can be a back up for anyone in the front 3, but as a starting XI player he'll be in midfield I believe.Don't think he'll ever be a "Xhaka" though.
To be honest, although he did quite well under Bosz at Leverkusen as an 8 for phase, I'm not sure he's got the dynamism and athletic dexterity for such a remit in the PL.
I assumed Arteta wanted him to play as a false 9

Hopefully you're right that he lacks the dynamism and athleticism for a midfield role.
I was thinking he'd play false 9 as well. The only thing I don't get is where he fits because in that case wouldn't he bench Jesus then? I thought Nketiah was a decent squad option as it was.Not so much athleticism, but athletic dexterity. Slightly different. he played as an 8 in a CM3 at Leverkusen for Bosz (with Brandt as the other 8) and it worked quite well, so I could be wrong, but he was a bit younger and slightly more nimble. Even that didn't last long as he ended up getting pushed into the false 9 because their striker got injured IIRC.
If they get Havertz (as it seems they will) I can live with that...Yeah.
