Player Pape Sarr

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's had 3 seasons of not being coached in the basics , just like the other young guys , proper structure and coaching will bring a different player out .

4 coaches in 4 years in a team that has massively stagnated and people wonder why our players don't push on, fanbase is full of 🤡's

Unfortunately for him though we have too many in his position and he probably needs to be moved on.

Of course all the different managers, and different types of managers more importantly, hasn't helped his progress but I honestly don't think his ceiling is or ever was that high anyway. Got a decent engine, otherwise I don't see anything about him that makes me feel that he can become anything special. Maybe he will prove me wrong whenever he leaves (hopefully in the summer), but my prediction is that we will not look back and regret that we sold him.

Not every player within that weird imponderable called potential can realise whatever that unknown may be but as a club we cannot afford to keep holding on for a point in time that may never occur.

On Sarr, I thought we might see a Vieira-light, because of the guy's physique and running power but in the however many years and regardless of the number of managers, I don't see progress. At least nothing tangible and that gives hope for the future.

And as a club and if we want to move away from a sense of it being okay to always be waiting for 'potential' to be realised we need to start cutting our losses far sooner than we appear willing to do.

Sarr would most probably be better off moving on and so would we, but if we were to be relegated that would possibly put that on hold.

Ange nearly ruined his career. We'll see if RDZ can revive it. I trust RDZ's perspective on this more than anyone on this site, including Timberwolf and Deuterz.

I trust my senses and the evidence. I think cream rises to the top, maybe not quite in Ms Jean Brodie's slightly warped manner but invariably

In work and in sport, talent and ability transcends most cross winds.

I don't see anything exceptional in Sarr worth keeping if we stay up.

Absolutely not true in every arena you site it patently not what happens. And in Soccer it definitely doesn't happen. Any number of causal issue can change an out come no matter how talented you are .

He was actually better when he first signed, than he is now. Completely lost his way.

Unfortunately he doesn't have the technical ability to really succeed and be the player we want him to be.

Sell.

I'm not sure sure I'm ready to give up on him just yet, his only hurdle is our recent fetish with hoarding 8's.
It'll be interesting to see that RDZ does this summer because some have clearly got to go.

He started this season brilliantly but then fell foul of Frank's terrible tactics and desire to bench anyone who had a couple of good games.
I think Tel also suffered from this.

To be honest, I completely forgot about him. Which probably says something about the way he's played for us over the last couple of years.

I don't think he's going to get any better than he is at the moment, time to move him on while he still has value.

I've rated Sarr since his first games for us.

But have to admit - he was one of the dissapointments of the season.

He has been with us for 4 full years. But the anticipated breakthrough hasn't still arrived. And as was pointed out - we are absolutely flushed with players that are mainly #8 now - Bentancur, Gallagher, Bergvall likely Gray too + Sarr. Even with Bissouma out of the door, that seems too much. No Europe either next season.

And then there is the issue that... despite being flush in terms of numbers - we still need to buy at least one more midfielder. Someone ready-made whose biggest asset would be his passing range.

So there's gonna be need to shuffle things around. Would not be surprised if Sarr becomes a casualty for that shuffle.

Another one that has to go. Keeping players like this stinks of mediocrity. The ones who want to keep the likes of him then don’t have a right to moan when we sit in the bottom half of the table.
