I certainly did. Other than the mistake that led to the goal he played well.

I think maybe you are shocked a bit too easily.
no - I have been watching football for far too long, and I know what a good fullback looks like - and it doesn't look like Danny Rose.
Sometimes he looks semi decent, usually when he has no-one to defend against
As soon as he has to deal with a wide player, or mark someone, or cross into the box - it all goes horribly wrong. I think he's a liability and we need to replace him ASAP.
Maybe he should revert to being a winger, because he sure as hell isn't a full back.
IMHO

This is what I think we are going to see...
By all means, don't want Ade there, but its gonna happen.

The anticipation is clearly building for this one among the Spurs faithful ... more than 700 tickets going on Stubhub and several hundred on the official site too. I guess early Sunday kick-offs are the worst.

its trying to persuade the wife that having beer at 9.30 in the morning is perfectly acceptable - on the basis that its a football match............

I just wish the live TV times were more sociable for fans and players. Why don't we have e.g. Friday and Saturday evening games instead of these stupid early matches where there is even less atmosphere than usual. And yes, when having a drink is more feasible and more acceptable.

My team for the weekend now. I would like to give Capoue a break since he's on a bad run but Stambouli looks far from up to it so unless Poch will take a risk and give Dembele a go we've got to stick with him. I also believe it'll be great for the team to give Townsend a run out, someone who can always spark danger for the opposition from anywhere on the pitch and we miss that at times.

Also Kane absolutely HAS to start. Can be no doubt about it, our other two strikers are nowhere near him at the moment and he's had plenty of time to build up confidence.

I could see Kane getting a start this weekend, it'd be a good fit against Stoke. I understand why Kane hasn't had a start in the prem yet, just throwing him into the team could do more bad than good for him. If there's one thing I trust Poch with, it's developing players, just look what he did at Soton

Totally agree - let him mix it with Shawcross

With kane playing last night I expecting it will be just adebayor up front on his own. Two holding midfielders with inverted wingers....the perfect ingredient at home for a 0-1 loss.

Attacking full-back has to be the most difficult positional role to play. Let's not forget that Walker was pretty shocking in his first season. This is Davies' first season and he is only 21. Rose has been getting better and better, and has only played around 40 games for us. Let's hope that they both push on, they both could compete for the best Spurs left back of the Premiership era, not that that is much of a badge of honour.
Ross needs to understand how to defend first, the going forward bit is the easy part. Rose relies on this pace to get himself out of trouble and to often he gets exposed. Walker does the same and is highly criticised when it goes wrong but in equal measures is brilliant when it goes right. Davis for me knows how to defend and should be our regular LB. With Davis and Walker FBs the CB will improve. I want to see Dier in there. I know he's slow but his bright.

Fill in the blanks Poch, you poor guy.
:pochsulk:
Simply because of bad form I think fullbacks are already decided and even in bad form Vertonghen is head and shoulders above of our other CB's [formation=4231, Lloris, Naughton, defender, Vertonghen, Rose, Mason, midfielder, attacker, attacker, Chadli, Kane][/formation]

[formation=4231, Lloris, Kaboul, Fazio, Vertonghen, Rose, Capoue, Dembele, Chadli, Kane, Adebayor, Soldado][/formation]

With a taller left back and forward, we could be the new old Stoke.
How about [formation=4231, Lloris, Kaboul, Fazio, Dier, Vertonghen, Capoue, Chiriches, Dembele, Kane, Chadli, Adebayor][/formation]?

Only 4 guys who should be certain starters; Lloris, Chadli, Mason & Kane. The rest all have cases for and against them starting

You would have got 5000/1 for those 4 players to be our most important 4 at the beginning of the season
