News Police to visit 1,000 homes in crackdown on illegal Premier League streams and "fire sticks"

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

By the way, this is not targeting people who watch a stream from a website for free. This appears to be targeting people who have accessed and/or paid for a service hence the database. The police do NOT know who is watching streams off random websites.

...but try to get them to take any notice at all when your car's been broken into, or you've been mugged.

The police need to take a long, hard look at their priorities. Crime against the individual is slightly more important than people ripping off multi billion dollar companies for a couple of quid.
Looks like PC Deuterz Deuterz is the only person who finds my post funny. Ironic, that!

I don’t do it. More so because I don’t want to end up with a virus on my devices :contelol:

None of this would be an issue though, if people had the ability to subscribe to a service where you can watch every game. I’m sure people would happily pay for it
Don't watch illegal streams Carrie, or you might get a virus on your devices. Is this stream illegal?...

My laugh react was because I highly doubt it will end up actually happening to the extent suggested.

And yes as Raiders Raiders pointed out, if it does happen it’ll be to find some big time hosts who are distributing the content, they couldn’t care less about any of you lot sat in your pants watching the game.

And they can't know who is streaming from a random website unless they are accessing your ISP or have access to that website (even then in the age of VPNs, it is hopeless). If they have access to your ISP data, you have more to worry about than streaming football!
(Edit: I mean by law the police can't acces ISP data unless it is referred by the ISP or they have a warrant)

Police will visit 1,000 homes this week as part of a massive crackdown on illegal television streaming.

They have identified customers from a huge database in a major ongoing criminal investigation and will knock on the doors of people to warn they could also face prosecution. This latest clampdown against 1,000 individuals comes after raids by West Mercia Police against a UK-based illegal streaming service offering entertainment and sports via modified boxes, so-called “ fire sticks” and subscriptions.

Fantastic to see our boys in blue have cleared up all the sexual assault , rapes , murders , trafficking , violent assaults etc and can now focus on the little things

If you are someone who has subscribed to a service and use a firestick then you should be wary. Watch before you open the door and do not open it to any suspicious people. They are not likely to knock the door down.

I share a Now TV sports deal, which gives access to Sky's content, with my daughter. It can currently be viewed on up to 4 devices at the same time. Her fella works away a lot so all the extended family can watch at the same time. I believe this is also being clamped down on.

If they do that they can fuck off.

My daughter also got BT Sport thrown in with her Virgin package so we go there when Spurs are on BT.

Any games not on Sky or BT we reluctantly do off the radar.

I only watch 90 minute Spurs games on live streams.

I watch everything else legally, regarding other teams games, for free on youtube highlights.

I subscribe to Sky Sports, BT Sport, BBC Sport, ITV Sport, ESPN and Bein Sports youtube channels to access the free highlights content.

It all needs to be under one roof, for a reasonable subscription.

If I could access all Spurs live games, in every competition, for about £250 a season, I would gladly pay it.

£5 a game would be fair.

It would make it accessible to all and more people would do it legit.

If it will cost me more than that I am happy to improvise or go without.

Spursplay would be a beautiful thing if all Spurs live games were on there, as well as the other content, for £250 a season.

The free market is supposed to cater for supply and demand.

There is clearly a huge demand, from all football supporters, to watch their own teams live matches.

The current TV deal set up in the UK does not meet that demand and has actually contributed to people feeling they have no other choice than to find the best way, to watch their own teams matches, by legal or other methods.

It's a farce.

Mate if the PL introduced a service to watch all pl games for £30 a month I would pay it.
Imagine it just in this country: 1 million people people paying £30 a month = £360m a year just in this country. I am sure it would be way more anyway because of individual game packages and more than million people buying.

I use an internet based streaming service and here in Canada it is not considered illegal to use it. I pay 15 dollars a month and get all the games ! The conventional service would cost me $115 . I don't feel bad in the slightest !!

Would there be any way of getting it for free?

- asking for a friend.

Yes. type in "Reddit soccer stream" on Google. There are many sites which cater for your friend's needs.
The thing is though I would easily pay £30 a month for the service.
Might as well move all PL games from Sat 3PM and be done with it - that’s one barrier (clashing with lower leagues which should be protected IMO)

It’s a minor crime. How about they put some actual effort in to solving a few burglaries and crimes. Didn’t they report before Christmas that a million thefts and burglaries hadn’t been solved in 2022.
