The irony is that the majority of our fan base would have accepted Potter a month ago…

we really wouldn’t have mate. Nobody wants a 4 or 5th choice target sorry, it screams mid table mediocrity. A lot of Spurs fans were negative about Potter. It’s only now we are desperate does he become a slightly more attractive option than Parker, Martinez etc, which doesn’t really mean much. From Conte to Potter ? Sorry, joke.

At least we sounded him out of that is the case.

Imagine how people would be on the club's case if it turned out that Conte didn't demand stupidly high amounts of financial backing and we passed on him.
Why do you think he left Inter after winning the league? He wanted proper financial backing that they didnt want to. But somehow at spurs who are 7th in the league, he would want to not be backed? This was just an embarassing fuckup from levy.

My whole point was around Poch and Conte never having been mentioned at that time

Conte’s a huge name but without proper backing we could end up with a giant meltdown and back to square one. Unless the club are going to be run better plus funded better the likes of Ten Hag and Potter who are basically Poch-lite managers are more suitable and less likely to fail here. That is the reality of where we are.

Potter isn’t as good as Conte or Poch but he isn’t Martinez or Howe either, he is a Rogers at Swansea type risk level manager.

I will get behind anyone who leads us out every week (even that cunt Mourinho) but the fact that we were making jokes about how we will end up with a Potter or Howe after everything and that now may be the case shows us exactly the plan from Levy going forward. This whole thing has been an absolute farce.
I think its down to us fans now not to slaughter the new manager if things go pear shaped early on in the season. They'd be nothing more than the latest stooge in this pantomime of dithering and shit decision making.

Not that many of us on here ever did, but anyone still believing anything any ITK ever says ever again needs their heads examined.

Nobody knows what's going on. I'm not sure even Levy knows what's going on.

Or maybe it isn't. We're the biggest club out there in search of a coach and probably the only one that can offer what Conte wants (and I say "can" not "will"). I wouldn't be surprised if he thought again about it and said "OK, I'll meet you halfway." I mean, what's his alternative? Probably sitting the year out waiting for a bigger club to fire its coach. Who knows, maybe that's appealing to him. But if he wants to coach, then we're basically his only option right now. And I'm pretty sure the little bald prick knows this.
