I've just been looking through archived photos, to be shown on my new digital photo frame, and I've come across a folder of pics/videos taken during the final home game in 2007. We beat Man City 2-1, including having a penalty saved. One of the pics is of one of my favourite managers who, though we didn't know it at the time, didn't have long left...

Whoever we get, let's hope he's as good as this guy ^^^
Loved him,full stop.
But when he had his set too with Wenger, after we scored in the NLD was a joy to watch. He went from very liked,to legend after that with me.

Just beating the MARCELO GALLARDO drum again for those unaware of him.

Not had an argument against him yet that comes close to convincing me otherwise yet, I want to hear why what he's won at River Plate and the fact he is coming the Europe sooner or later for a good club isn't enough for us? Why wait until he does well with a midd table team, you never know who's going to be looking for a good manager when he's next available.

Right now no other big teams need a manager, we almost have the pick of the best coaches available but just as we saw with Bayern if one of the biggest 5 or 6 want someone they will get ahead of us.

Also a question for the Ten Haag supporters (I don't dislike him). What do you think is the reason Bayern didn't go for him considering he had managed their B team and doing so well with Ajax at the moment?

I'm no football expert more than anyone else on here so obviously it's just opinions but I just feel some of the targets people have mentioned are lazy choices based on knowing them not actually knowing all the managers out there to pick from.

If I set it up more sexy:

There is an Argentinian coach who is friends and came up from the same school as Poch with Bielsa. He has taken the Argentinian team River Plate as his second role as a coach and become their most successful manager ever playing stylish football and has tried all different types of formations to great effect. Barca have been interested also.

Now tell my why Potter, Parker, Ten Haag, Sarri and any of the other names currently have a better CV than him?

It's Brendan Rogers!!!!
A geezer who works for Mercedez ,was speaking to the Oxford manager, who was speaking to Neil Lennon, who was playing golf with Rogers(Brendan, not Ted) and he reckons he's coming to Spurs.
Just waiting till after the cup final to announce.

Anyone else get a message on WhattsApp saying this?

Hojbjerg.

...who, incidentally, has been our midfield rock for the majority of the season and you want to sell him. Forgive me if I don't take much notice of your footballing views from now on.
He's had 10 good games give or take - then reverted back to average mode, even when paired with Ndombele

To expect the next incarnation of Roy Keane is laughable at this stage

Alabama found this write up on his playing style that is a good read.

I've seen some of their matches. They play good football and are doing well for themselves.

They're currently 3rd and on for CL,

Seems odd that he'd want to jump ship to us?

although maybe $$$$$

I want potter because I watch Brighton regularly and I’m almost always impressed by their attacking patterns and organisation. They are 90% let down by the shitness of their individual parts not the sum of them. If potter translates their patterns and style to much higher quality players the limit is very very high. If they had Kane they would be above us. You better believe it.

I saw them clearly outplay us, Liverpool and United just by memory. And even completely shut down the chavs a few days ago.
This

We absolutely did not peak that night. We hung on for dear life and drew well against the run of play for 90 minutes and didn't deserve to be in the final apart from some individual moments of brilliance.

I remember thinking that game was fucking morbid and almost unbearable to watch until the 94 minutes or whatever it was.
I think you misunderstand my definition of 'peaking' .... we peaked in so much as that's as good as we were gonna get during the 'project' in that period of time.

"Hanging on for dear life" to reach a CL Final WAS peaking!!!!

Had we blown Ajax away 4 or 5-0, we might have gone into the Final with more confidence than we did.... rather than playing the part of 'plucky underdogs' just glad to be there!

We were a slightly better looking Wimbledon 1988, but WITHOUT the Cup win!!!!!

His first year they were 7th, then 5th and now 3rd. He's a very good coach.
I think it was mid January to mid February where they got 8 clean sheets in a row and averaged about 2 goals a game

Only teams they have lost to in the league are:
Bayern x2
Dortmund x2
Leipzig x1 (still have to play them again)
Frankfurt x1 (won 2-1 in the other game)

He is a pretty good coach and got them playing some good football, conceded the 2nd least goals, scored the 6th most

I watched them play against Bayern a couple weeks ago and I was impressed. The were all over Bayern and conceded against the run of play. I think the announcers said it was the first goal they had conceded at home in like 6 games or something

Europe is not like South America, the standard of football is much higher, especially tactically, and he does not have experience coaching in a league where most teams are full of very fit players capable of playing heavy pressing styles for 90 minutes. He does have experience coping with pressure, but that is not the same thing as the tactical challenges. Nor does he have experience coaching a team with stars at this level, and so is not used to the ego management. Nor is he used to a multicultural dressing room, as Argentine football is quite homogenous and also, to be blunt, not very receptive to black people. I don't see evidence that he could handle the demands in tactics or man management at the level required.

Ten Hag, Potter, and Scott Parker do not have the cultural issues, nor inexperience with the tactical level.
