Going purely on last season Forster is ahead of lloris and there is nothing to suggest lloris will recapture past levels
Lloris in his absolute prime would have been too poor of a fit for Angeball to work.

There are very few keepers of Hugo's generation left at elite clubs (compare to a decade ago when there were 40 year olds all over the place in goal). They were built and trained in an era when the keeper playing the ball in the build up was not yet a standard part of the game, and that has always been an area of particular weakness for Lloris despite being an elite shot-stopper and in his younger days an outstanding sweeper keeper.

Could PEH play RCB if needed?

Everyone tends to think of players as only having one position, but Hojbjerg started his career as a striker before playing right wing and then central midfield.

So its likely Ange has already figured out who the alternatives he might need to call on if there are injuries to a CB.

Its a shame Martin Peters doesn't still play for us - he played all 11 positions in the pitch in his professional career. Or perhaps more relevant, despite his size, Harvey White played as CB for Spurs u19's against Barcelona u19's with Spurs winning and Harvey MoTM - never seen him play CB since though !

Sucks that you need special dispensation to switch around numbers once they've been registered, even if those players haven't appeared in an EPL game and left the club like Reguilon did.

That‘s more to do with the fans though. It would be very annoying to buy a new shirt with a player number on it then weeks later that player changes to another number. Clubs would be having to refund/exchange all over the place.

Anyone got the exact number of games that Son, Bissouma and Sarr can miss in January through the African Nations and Asian tournament.

Three very important players.

I'm going balls out for an alternative suggestion...

Imagine he'd played at ANOTHER club all this time, and now, for his one final year in football, WE signed him as experienced back up to Vicario.... :hugoshock:

We've done it before with experienced 'keepers as back up... albeit with mixed results...

But at the time, the likes of Brad Freidel, Joe Hart, and Fraser Forster seemed like a good idea at the time... so why not utilise Lloris for the exact same role??

I reckon Lloris is STILL a better option than Forster, despite his recent dip in form...
but if he's happy to be the experienced 2nd choice keeper, and maybe help the younger lads in training, then why the hell not keep him...? :llorishowudoin:

He's already HERE FFS!
There is a non-HG slot available....

When does the Saudi Arabian transfer window close? While the Saudi Pro League transfer window was originally scheduled to close on September 20th, it was brought forward at the request of the Saudi Football Federation and it will now shut on September 7th.

The 20 teams in the Turkish Super Lig can continue to sign players until their transfer window shuts on September 15th.

United Arab Emirates – September 21st
Andres Iniesta is the most high-profile player to have joined the UAE Pro League club this summer, signing a one-year deal at Emirates.

I thought someone said Son might not play in the Asian Cup?

My question is this: why can't all European/Global transfer windows close on the same day...? (August 32st for example...)

Honest question. I know there's a time difference between Countries & Continents,... but it's not a TWO WEEK time difference!

Some countries' (eg Scandinavian and.. spit... Russian?) seasons begin and end in different months.

Lloris in his prime was no worse than Joe Hart in terms of kicking the ball and playing out from the back, I think he would have been fine.

They don't all start and end their seasons at the same time

Gold's verdict on the squad.

There are some question marks over whether Forster has the same ability with his feet but the experienced stopper will be a solid back-up to the Italian and Joe Hart worked well under Postecoglou as a veteran despite being previously criticised for his ability to play out with his feet.
