Match Premier League - Home to Aston Villa - 03/11 - 2pm KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Dream outcome for next league round:

Scum and Arse draw.
Citeh and BHA draw.
Pool and Villa draw.
Newcastle beat Forest.
Spurs beat Ipswich.

Spurs end up third on GD!!!

Only problem is that Ipswich have 2 Aussies playing for them, so we might lose.

Firstly - good to catch up with Rocket Rocket , Shades Shades , East Mid Yid East Mid Yid and Spurshaker Spurshaker .
Most of the following points have been made, but my take was:
1. we played well throughout the game, but just more effective in the second half.
2. Pape was my MOTM, he was everywhere, but can't really fault anyone.
3. If we give Dom some decent service, he will score goals.
4. Ange did the right thing in taking Sonny off when he did. We need to manage his playing time, especially as he is just getting back from injury.
5. Villa are a dirty, time-wasting team and I hope whatever caused Cash to go off, leads to him being out for as long as he put Hot Rod out of the game.
6. Feel for Richy, hope his injury is not too serious.
7. Glad I didn't have to listen to that inane gooner commentating while I'm watching the game, in fact I'm glad I don't have to listed to any commentary. I know what I'm looking at, I don't need a so-called expert telling me.
8. The ref was useless, but don't know why I expected any better. 10 minutes extra time , all nearly from their time wasting antics.
9. Got my chicken and noodles to take away and enjoyed them when I got home in time to see the Strictly results show, to learn that one annoying scouser had been knocked out. And with the results yesterday, it's been a pretty good weekend.
COYS

Good day all round Mrs Perryman Mrs Perryman .

I don't think many of us expected that 2nd half turn around, especially with how the game was being refereed, was fully expecting a 2nd half of fouls and timewasting. But, fair play, whatever was said or happened during the half time break certainly lit a fire under them.. Just frustrating we have those brain farts at the set pieces - other teams know it and are targeting us, it is plain to see and you can't blame them, its what I would do. Lets hope the inuries are not too bad.

See you next week .. COYS

Not an issue so much defensively, but our offensive corners leave a lot to be desired. We overuse the second man routine and barely ever land the ball around the penalty spot & give Romero, Drag etc something to attack.

Scoring plenty of goals but a bit of creativity there would not go astray.

Incredibly, we're 5th in xG for offensive set pieces.

Behind City, Forest, Woolwich and Villa.

Lots of Captain hindsights in here. Typically the same people who lack any vision and never stick their own knecks out.

Fact is corners are still an issue, we do still struggle against low block teams with pace who play quick break.
I couldn't see us scoring today, but the second half we upped the tempo and we were clinical and Ange had another blinder with his subs.
Overall a brilliant result and lets hope we can now push on and find some consistency

Yet this has nothing to do with the original assertarion about Solanke.

Seeing as people are getting upset that their reactionary comments are getting bumped how about this...show a bit of patience once in a while and perhaps hold back your takes until the end of the match?

It's obvious that the people going early are Ange out and pretty much seeking every bit of confirmation bias just to fuel your agenda but you can't complain when your post full of drivel is bumped, just stop being a reactionary nitwit.

I just can’t believe how he spends his whole match day experience hoarding up countless quotes during the game in the hope he can start spraying them around in the post match discussion just to garner some positive reactions.

Surely there's more to life than this 🤷‍♂️. It's just not normal

Just enjoy the win like the rest of us for Heaven sake

Quit the tears, you give as good as you get on here, you're gonna have to hold this one.

You’re as quick as anyone to call people out (or try to). You made a stupid, ill-judged post slagging off one of our players and have rightly been called out for it by good posters.

Doesn’t matter if you tried to backtrack by “calling yourself out” as you put it in a post to Shadydan Shadydan , just give it a rest, accept you fucked up and take your medicine. People here ARE enjoying the win, but that doesn’t stop them calling out nonsense like your ridiculous post about Solanke.

I accept you’re embarrassed about it (and rightly so). Let that be a lesson next time you want to be vitriolic about one of our players.

I'm more impressed with the fitness level of Johnson, Sarr and even Kulu. They played the whole 100 minutes running so much and still looked fresher than Villa players at the end. I can get what Ange meant when he said we have got another two or three gears to go even.

Home to away form consistency needs to improve...but it will, folk just need to chill...it should come as no surprise that we have consistency issues as we have a young core and playing in the Prem isn't easy at all, especially away fixtures.

Yeah that’s fair enough. I was talking overall but agree with that.

Some posters inability to recognise that 9 out of 11 wins isn’t a big problem is baffling!

Feeling pretty chipper this morning , think we all know that pride comes before a fall though , so I’m not expecting us to hunt Liverpool or City down . What I am hoping for is a couple of decent cup runs ( hopefully a win) and a top 6 finish . What I am expecting is lot more decent performances and a disappointing January transfer window .

Most teams seem to be suffering from the same - City and Scum both struggled massively in their last two away PL games against what would often be cannon fodder to them.

Well, joined this forum to be able to comment upon this game. As well as to read what other supporters write. And I am happy to say that coincided with a big Spurs win. As well as with Son's return to play with a great assist that turned the game. Along with Solanke scoring two goals and finally appearing to get into his scoring groove.

Premier League is the hardest league in the world, the middling teams have closed the gap massively on the top 6.

The game against Palace last week was typical of this, we played shit and should have won but the team that Palace put out would beat the vast majority of others at Selhurst.

Every team bar Liverpool and City is struggling for consistency, Forest being 3rd just tells it's own story - that's why using the league table at this very moment as evidence of how we are doing needs a boat load of context.

Disagree on Newcastle v Forest.
I want Forest to beat them. Newcastle will be the bigger threat as the season progresses. Forest will gradually fade away.

Cheer up D.
It's not all doom and gloom.
The next fixture is away to Galatasaray on Thursday and they have a 9-1-0 start in the Supa Liga.
Plus our injuries and the rotations we'll have to make.....wouldn't be surprised if we lose this one.

That gives you 4 full days to whip out the whet-wheel and get all those knives razor sharp.🤣
