News Premier League star arrested on suspicion of rape

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not a chance in hell that the FA were talking to her without woolwich being party to all discussions. If Spurs were in a similar situation and simply abdicated all responsibility to the FA, I'd call for Levy and everyone on the board to be sacked and banned from the club for life.

If nothing else it's a dereliction of duty towards the club.
Also how will amazon feel about this not to mention the sponsors. Woolwich as a club knew one of thier stars had at minniumn got up to some pretty offensive behaviours yet you allowed him to play on with our brands all over him. I'd be livid if I was addidas emirates or amazon.

Probably phase him out and tell him to find a new club.
Does phasing (rather than suspending ', do you mean you'd still give him some game time?
This looks so bad for Woolwich

Surprised she didn't qualify as an 'adult at risk' from a safeguarding perspective, as that category includes (or, at least, should include) include alcohol abuse, which is relevant to this case since she was drunk.

I will look down on other cultures where it seems to be the majority view and I will look down on those (there are still around) who believe it in the UK, basically anyone who believes that I will look down on them. I used other cultures in this instance as that is where the tweets were coming from, well all the ones I saw.

*also purposely used "some cultures" not other countries as I am sure some within the UK believe this also
You can do as you please obvs. But we the UK are far from pristine on this, which is the substantive point. Also 'where it seems to be the majority' means practically nothing. If we have learned one thing about social media it is that its very performative. It can't be used as a barometer of any kind of concensus thank fuck. It's the home of attention seeking halfwits. Also be wary of where 'Tweets' claim to come from, as analysis post the racist abuse of Saka Rashford and Sancho highlighted.

I do find the tribalism surrounding this case very strange. Just because someone happens to play football for the team you co-incidentally support, it doesn't automatically make them guilty or innocent. The merits of this case and whether the incident in question took place as the victim is claiming, has nothing to do with the team the player in question is employed by. It's very odd (but not entirely unexpected because Twitter is a bit of a cesspool) that so many people are sending this poor girl such vile abuse just because she has made an accusation against a player that happens to be employed by the team they support.

People are strange...

It's a total lack of perspective.

Sorry but I did laugh at this. It's dark humour that isn't even remotely impacting the people involved. People need to relax a bit.

I’d describe you as a smart & reasonable man, but Im surprised how you perceived this.
The original poster chose to add ‘she won’t hump you’. At another time that might be mildly funny eg, ‘why are you so polite to x,yz, she wont hump you’ but here we are discussing a specific incident. The girl has been subject to sexual abuse from her boyfriend. She is telling the world about it. The ‘hump you’ comment is clearly linked to her having sex and that is in poor taste. many on Twitter think she is promiscuous, to blame, exaggerated a sex act and so I agree with Goat calling that out.
Shame that you two then ended up in a cunt off.

I'm sure the media is all over this one. Let me go check Sky.

Hmm, that's odd. I thought this story would be getting top-billing. Surely it's right beneath?

Okay, I have some questions. Are they covering this story at all?

She wouldn't meet the criteria of at risk. Its essentially someone who is cognitively impaired or has significant mental health issues (I. E vulnerable to such an extent they can't legally consent). Its safeguarding against the likes of Saville. I'm unsure how profound her alcohol dependence is, but she seems to have her faculties and wits about her. Her posts read cogently

What it does show that Woolwich knew about Partey. knew of the pretty compelling evidence and chose to continue to play him. This is going to get very murky.
Yeah, hence it not making their part in it all any better, but she's using that text to say that Woolwich didn't do anything for the reasons outlined in the text, when that came from the FA...

It was the FA that wouldn't do anything due to her age, as much shit as Woolwich deserve to have thrown at them, that shit ain't part of it.

It's a total lack of perspective.
Completely different, but look at the abuse Harry's brother got last summer.

Football Fans on Twitter are generally the worst because they believe they have carte blanche to say wtf they want. At least here on this forum you will be judged by your reputation. There are several people who message on multiple boards and I know to have them on ignore. I remember when we had all the Mourinistas I had quite a few on ignore.

This lady should not have to become a martyr. I hope that she has a strong support network looking out for her.

She's sadly going to need it with all the degenerates out to get her.

this is why social media is so important. All the morons a week or two ago who were saying they'd be all for social media to be abolished have no idea what they're talking about.

Accepted, though I guess it depends on how tightly you define it. The PeopleFirst website, for example, appears to have a broader definition that could be interpreted as including those under the influence of alcohol.

An adult might be considered at risk if they are aged 18 years or over and:
  • has needs for care and support (whether or not the local council is meeting any of those needs) and;
  • is experiencing, or at risk of, abuse or neglect; and
  • as a result of those care and support needs is unable to protect themselves from either the risk of, or the experience of abuse or neglect.
An adult at risk may be a person who:
  • Is elderly and frail due to ill health
  • Has a learning disability
  • Has a physical disability and / or a sensory impairment
  • Has mental health needs including dementia or personality disorder
  • Has a long -term illness /or condition
  • Misuses substances or alcohol
  • Is unable to make their own decisions and is in need of care and support
  • Is a young adult, over the age of 18, who has care and support needs and is 'in transition' from childrens' to adults' services
  • Is a carer (looking after another person with care and support needs)
This list is not exhaustive, other people might also be considered to be adults at risk.

No, I'd be looking at a new DMF.

I think there's ways to cover things up like a lot of clubs tend to do - just say he has an injury or something whilst putting him on Gardening leave

This is a good point, albeit pretty inconsequential in the scheme of things, you would presume he is present in a lot of the scenes, and specifically focused on in some too.

Will they be frantically editing him out ahead of the premiere, will they delay the drop of the first 3 episodes, or will they just do an Woolwich and delve their head into the sand and pretend nothing untoward is going on?

I just took it at face value. It made me laugh and I'd be lying if I said it didn't.

Nobody is saying the alleged crime is anything other than absolutely vile. Sorry if I offended anybody (apart from Goat, who was literally born offended).
