I feel Football has been going a certain way for a while now, its just focused around money, with obscene Transfer fees and wages, midweek games with no care for the fans who travel there and ticket prices that the majority would struggle to afford if they wanted to go every week! Even if you want to watch it at home "legally" it costs a small fortune to have BT and Sky Sports, long gone is the working mans game!

I will always support Spurs, the club is part of me, there is nothing that could stop me supporting them, however regardless if we get bought out by these or anyone else, i cant help but think i started falling out of love with the game a while back, don't get me wrong i will always follow the club and its a huge part of my life, however its not how it used to be and it wont be long before all PL clubs are owned by Sugar Daddies and the NLD is hosted in Qatar, Money and greed ruined the game and its come to a point now where we need this kind of investment just to stand a chance tainted or not i'd love to know just once what its like to experience us winning something big and im sure im not the only one!

I think this (unfortunately) boils down to "where the money comes from..."
We want obscenely big investment, but we want it from 'nice, good natured money from an ethical source..'

Hate to break it to anyone, but ANY amount of money (of those obscene amounts) probably doesn't originate from a non-profit vegan sustainable organic farming business....
Most likely SOMEONE has had to pay for it with their lives along the way...

the REALLY BIG money is almost certainly BLOOD money! (Or at least unethical!)

Can't win either way....

Shame Oxfam aren't multi gazillionaire Spurs fans innit?

I think we should all relax, they clearly met to get this deal over the line and nothing else.

Can't have two clubs in the same uefa competition.

UEFA rules
This states that no two clubs or more participating in a UEFA club competition may be directly or indirectly controlled by the same entity or managed by the same person.
Well there's no worries on that count....
Which is why they probably sounded *us out now!!

*'cos obviously PSG won't qualify for the CL ever again!

It’s not so much that I want ethical money, which is a pipe dream, I would just be more comfortable with something that isn’t as bad as some of the stuff Qatar gets up to.

we have already had hundreds of millions invested in us by a billionaire, who hasn't killed anyone (as far as anyone is aware) to earn his money, or persecuted minorities.
However, he is reviled -
Because he's old
because he lives on a yacht in the Caribbean
Because he wont allow the club to have more of his money than he wants to give
Because he took advantage of a trading loophole and legally made money out of it.

And those of you that do this, beware of what you wish for, because when he's gone - there is no guarantee his trading group will keep the club, or will continue to invest at the same level. At which point the club could either slowly decline even further, or be sold to someone like the Glazers.

He is currently the devil we know.

I wasn't suggesting success would be guaranteed, only that any future success would be tarnished in my view.

I would feel differently if we were the first and just kept winning year after year after year. Winning isn't fun if it's easy.

But we're too far behind City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Newcastle and even Woolwich to really put up a fight anymore.

I don't want to be fighting with Villa, Everton, West Ham and Leeds to finish 7th every year.

Its like arguing with a flat earther at this point. They don't need a proven and correct answer. They just make-up a reason on the spot why they are right and go with it.

:dembelefingers:

Fuck off...... Have you even looked at a league table in the last 5-10 years.

Chatting utter bullshit.

You could see Newcastle winning the league cup this season.
I think if that happens, it would highlight how poor this club has done, still it makes good jokes for our rivals.
