Porro quote (auto-translated):

P. Looking at the team's trajectory, why is it doing so well in the Champions League and so badly in Premier League?

R.
It's difficult, because when you're competing in four competitions in these circumstances... last year we already had that bad experience in the Premier League with many injured players and it doesn't give you, it doesn't give you to compete. We have young players who come strong and looking a little this season, it's basically the same. You're going to play against Woolwich, City, Liverpool or Chelsea and it doesn't work for you. We could make an eleven of injured players that could be even stronger than the eleven that is playing. And it's not out of disrespect to anyone, but it's basically reality. It's time to think and continue with the positive mentality. I've told my teammates, it's hard to compete like this, but we always have to give one hundred percent although things are not going well in the Premier League just like last year. We are going to face the playoff with a lot of ambition as we have been competing so far in the Champions League.

The club won't sack Igor after 3 matches, they will give him another 3 to 5 matches and then maybe but it will be late for any new comer to save us from relegation.

We are doomed to go down. We should send our special thanks and gratitude to Levy, Lewis, Enic and the new chiefs.

I heard a damming stat on how bad we are.
Only Sheffield Wednesday have won less home games than spurs this season on professional football.
This is the same Sheffield that literally have no players.

Relegation isn’t disaster — it’s financial downsizing.

Revenue is lower so lower expectations, being a lower table premier league team costs a fortune , you can’t buy stars in the championship, 23 home games , no European games , less cup games gives you more opportunity to have non footballing events .

I’m joking of course 😁

I think this thing about players seething is just bollocks.

What exactly are they seething about? They get paid very well to lose games for the last 2 seasons essentially.

It's a game of football. Just beat the other team. They have a new manager, after getting the last one sacked so surely they can't still be mad at the new guy too.

I can understand the lack of confidence, and the injuries being a reason why we are losing so many games. But the main reason is a lack of effort, pride, focus, professionalism, and just lots of really poor decisions on and off the pitch, and basically a lack of proper team spirit.

Of course the players won't be happy, but the only seething should be at themselves in the mirror.

I don't get who the players are supposed to be angry at? Makes no sense.
I agreed with this but then thought, they're probably pissed off because they were told they were joing an ambitious and big club, with bold plans to compete at the very top.
Then, they've seen over the past couple of years and windows that it was all a load of bollocks.

Yeah, they have to take a lot more responsibility themselves but two years of fighting relegation and then watching Gallagher walk through the door in January to replace our top goalscorer (and I don't think it was wrong to sell BJ but he was a popular lad in the squad and we didn't replace his position), then hire a shite manager who wanted to play basic bore-ball while constantly bigging up our bitter rivals and telling everyone one we were playing well when it was as clear as day that we weren't...

I think that if I'd signed a 6 year contract having been sold the dream of competing for the PL and CL, I'd probably be a bit sick of the place too.

You say your joking, but you can absolutely guarantee ENIC will have been doing the sums

Even though Sheffield Wednesday were relegated in February ( a record by the way ) and are still on minus 7 points for the season; it’s far from unlikely that they’ll overtake us ( in terms of home wins) before the season’s out . Just saying.

I am not sure, I feel like that is giving the players way too much leeway and excuses. Romero, VDV, Vicario and other countless players making pathetic mistakes this season is down to them. They need to look at themselves.

Footballers blaming the ownership is an easy cop out. Maybe Romero could point to his ambition not being met, but he's let the club down with his suspensions.

The club spent a lot of money in the summer and for all intents and purposes expected an exciting season.

I do think the club are ultimately responsible for the demise over several years, and definitely to blame for appointing people like Lange and Paratici who have fucked this squad up by signing constant duds, like Vicario, Porro, Udogie, Gallagher, Richarlison, Odobert, I could go on.

But ultimately if we get relegated, it will be on the players.

We have had two managers in Ange and Frank who couldn't get a tune out of them in the league. I think it's fair to say both managers are crap. But Tudor is also struggling.

This points to a cultural problem at the club, but also points to the fact that the squad we have are spineless. We have signed too many poor characters who aren't taking responsibility for themselves. We have no real leaders. The leadership group is a disgrace, how can you have a leadership group that has one of the worst players in the squad in, Vicario. Who lets goals in, makes mistakes constantly and berates young players.

That shows the squad is toxic. So yes overall the owners and leaders at the club, football and non football, are ultimately to blame. But if we go down, it's on this shit group of players who could only win 2 games at home all season.

We have cowardly players, they are a disgrace and I can't wait to see the back of them. I have said for a couple of seasons now that this squad are immensely dislikeable. Even Romero plays like he's dumb as hell. Porro and Vicario think they are far better than they are. VDV too. If I look back at the squads over the last couple of decades, we had such quality players, and even the ones who weren't great, most of them busted a gut.

This current iteration are pathetic, and so unlikeable. I don't just say that because we are struggling. Which players would you honestly want to get your kid a shirt with the name on the back? In previous years it would be a hard choice. Now, there's hardly a choice to make.

Managers are there for a reason. To manage.

If players don't perform or show a lack of respect drop them.

But it's for managers to pull it all together.

Postecoglou and Frank weren't good enough for this club. Period.

We have good enough players not to be in the situation we are in. Less than a handful of posters would have said we wouldn't be in the top half this season after the summer window.

If the players are considered to have fallen short, and they have, look no further than a manager who was out of his depth with us and who was left in situ for far too long, whilst allowing underperforming players to hold sway, and thus leading to underperformance.

Two seasons of PL failure left unchecked for too long is what we have seen.
