I live up north now so most fan are United or Liverpool. There isn’t a hate as such but most would like us to go down because it would be ‘funny’ and I have heard the word ‘funny’ mentioned multiple times. That isn’t the view of West Ham and I don’t think it was the view of Newcastle or Villa when they went down.

The underlying reason that is simply inescapable is that at least sub-consciously we are viewed as a bigger club than Villa, Newcastle or West Ham and what follows is it’s hilarious to see a big club fall away even if it’s an underachieving big club. One of the ‘top 6’ and again I have heard the phrase ‘top 6’ mentioned a few times getting relegated.

City fans on the other hand want us down because we always beat them for some reason and they think it means they will have a better season if we are not there which I do understand.
My golf buddy is a Chav fan and he wants us to stay up. Guaranteed 6 points init.

West Ham are capable of beating Woolwich at home.

We still need the mindset of 3/3 wins.

All focus on Leeds.

Hmmmmmmm.....West Ham beating that lot is possible, and in other circumstances I might be tempted ti say it's inevitable. Next Sunday with that lot seeking a title, and with a full 4 day's rest after Athletico,it would be staggering.

Before next weekend we have today's games which both have importance. If Forest lose, then they have Villa in what will be a hard hard match, followed by Newcsstle on Sunday afternoon. No recovery time at all.

If we beat Leeds and West Ham lose, West Han have to win both ganes to get past us.

De Zerbi will not need to do too much this week to have the players pumped and ready for next Monday, where I think we will hear the biggest Stadium roar for a very very long time. It will be a sell out or very close.

Villa and Newcastle getting relegated was seen as a big deal and very funny at the time (down south at least). I remember being at the Lane when we beat Newcastle 1-0 under Shearer and we were all singing "WE'LL NEVER PLAY YOU AGAIN".

Think it's basically the same for us but maybe twice the funniness/schadenfreude since we're bigger and richer than those clubs were at the time.

West Ham don't really come into the equation as they were a yo-yo club for so long that no-one outside London really cares what division they're in.

Leeds (and Villa) don't care much by the looks of it.

Yep, true.

I laughed when Villa and Newcastle went down because it was fascinating seeing a big club fall. I don't hate those clubs at all. Don't even dislike them but it's novel and something to rubberneck at.

Wanted Everton to go down as well for the same reasons. All three clubs carry a level of respect and are important to English football, but you have to enjoy huge unimaginable misfortune for them.

So totally understand why a neutral would want us to go down for a laugh. If we don't though it won't ruin their summer.

Funny seeing West Ham fans outrage over the Villa line up yesterday. Such short memories. 4 days before their last European semi-final 2nd leg (2022/23) they rested Rice, Paqueta, Bowen, Benrahma, Cresswell and Zouma against Brentford and lost 2-0.

Not to mention they once survived by the skin of their teeth because they illegally signed Tevez and Mascherano (although they had to pay off Shef United for that one).

I can see Forest being dragged into this. I know they have had some good form, but they are not infallible and they have some difficult fixtures coming up.
As much as I hate West Ham I’d rather Forest went down , revenge for MGW and them ultimately getting relegated because they played more games in a competition they shouldn’t have been in while the manager they sacked saves West Ham would be quite poetic!
Still as long as it’s not us I’ll be happy!

If we beat Leeds I will start to believe but until then we are still in deep shit as far as I am concerned. If we beat Leeds we officially move to shallow shit.
I honestly thought as soon as we went into the bottom 3 that would be it, we didn’t have the minerals to fight , still a long way to go yet but I’m impressed with the fight we are showing , RDZ is a special manager

Just imagine a world where West Ham beat Woolwich to deny them the title, but get relegated anyway.

That type of performance Villa put out yesterday happens from time to time under similar circumstances. It's just that usually the whole country isn't watching in anticipation hoping that Villa put up a fight so more attention is put on it.

Also played a Crystal Palace team resting players for a European game few weeks ago. Nothing got said then though by anyone in the media

His record shows Emery knows what he is doing. They are still in pole position in the league and beating Forest on Thursday is more important than a win over us.

I think Villa away represents s better opportunity for Spurs to get something than your instincts tell you.
Villa were good at winning, after Europe on a Thursday evening, in the first half of the season.
Not so much in the second half of the season.
They've had the odd poor result and performance, after Europe, in the second half of the season.
They are playing Forest either side of our game against them next Sunday evening.
Spurs have to target this game for 3 points.
