Shit thing is that had we drawn Villa and beaten Leeds, we'd all be extremely happy going into Chelsea. But with the reverse, and especially how we got screwed tonight, it feels like we got all the momentum sapped out of us.

We'd have all taken 4 points from.ganes vs Villa and Leeds. That mindset is absolutely needed to ensure the club has a positive mindset with 2 games left.

We've turned it around and put it in our hands. A win or a draw vs a poor Chelsea team playing only a couple of days before isn't unrealistic to target and achieve.

Saving grace is we still have the upper hand. Better points, better goal difference.

Newcastle won't roll over, they know there's too much riding on it elsewhere, the same applies to Chelsea and Everton for us and Leeds at West Ham final game.

Chelsea have eyes on the FA Cup final and only 2 full days of recovery. We have a better away record than most this season let's not forget.

It's all still too play for which is extremely disappointing but tonight we could easily be facing a loss if it wasn't for a couple of wonder saves from Kinsky.

This weekend is a point gained, even if it's given a half finished off team a little more belief than they had 24 hours ago.

If it goes down to the last game, we’re screwed imo.

They'd rather send us down than finish above their actual rivals.
We ARE their direct rivals and they have a chance to eliminate us for the foreseeable future killing the opportunity for us to rebuild and potentially compete for Europe next season with a manger in RDZ who has clearly had impact. Who the fuck cares about bragging rights of inconsequential finishing positions when you can send a Premier League legacy team down for years potentially.

We may not like it but it's an argument to be had and the fact that it's taking place is an indictment of us, not everyone else

Bookies still have Newcastle as strong favourites.

Obviously their fans would want us to go down. As they would any other Big 6 club in our position.

That doesn't necessarily translate to the players though. They probably couldn't care if it's us or West Ham.
That's where my hope is. The players will see what Leeds did today and how professional they were and have the same mindset. Plus, and I hope my view is spot on, I see Eddie Howe as someone who will approach every match with the same mindset.

Regardless, I am so worried now and back to pre-AV match feeling.

Hadn't realised Leeds have now gone 7 unbeaten in the prem.

Impressive.

Farke saying he wants to extend that and wants to "spoil the fans" with the last two games.

We'll see how much integrity he has.

WH fans on YT are celebrating.

24 hours ago, they were saying relegate us already because of the VAR thing... LOL... now they are celebrating and singing the new hope.
I heard someone even say that he heard chelsh!t fans say they want to lose the FA cup final and focus on their match vs us to help WH relegate us.

Nabbed this from the other place.

Some good points:

Reasons to be optimistic:
- a point tonight is better than no points
- I'd rather be 2 points in front than 2 points behind
- we play Chelsea 3 days after their FA Cup final while we have 8 days to prepare
- Chelsea are a mess
- we're actually pretty tasty away
- minutes for Maddison, and he looked good. Hopefully he can play a bigger part in the last 2 games
- Newcastle are currently 2 points behind Sunderland, they'll be desperate to correct that and West Ham is their last home game of the season. Sunderland only have 2 points from their last 4 games so Newcastle should feel like they're catchable.
- Okafor should be back for Leeds' last game against West Ham

Reasons to be pessimistic:
- pretty much everything else

We might not get a better chance of beating chelscum away, the state they're currently in.

Really have to seize the opportunity and just go berzerker.

Agree. What Newcastle do against WH might decide the degree of urgency we need the last two matches. It's in our hands.

Just like they are welling to sacrifice a trophy just to help relegate us, how poetic it would be if we secure safety at SB.

Of course it's possible but expecting us to get 1 win and 2 losses but end up with -8 GD is the unlikeliest scenario there is. We haven't lost by more than 3 goals all season, despite our horridness.

If you are worrying about us shipping 6 goals to a club that has scored only 2 in their last 5 games then there may not be enough points available to make you feel confident :franklol:

No chance, yes we could lose both games but no way if we beat Leeds are we going to capitulate to one of the poorest Chelsea sides in 30 years or against a stodgy Everton side - could see us losing both games by a couple of goals, but not a 6-0

Jesus Christ

There's pessimism and there's absolutely thinking of the most impossible doomsday scenario........

And even in your doomsday scenario - we still stay up. West Ham goal difference would be -18 and ours would be -17 😃

Stay positive man!!!

Otherwise it will do your brain in...

:pochcry:

I will gladly wager Spain's annual public expenditure that your scenario doesn't come to pass.
I know how unlikely it is that our goal difference could be bettered by west ham.
I was hoping for a win vs leeds and west ham to lose at newcastle.
Now I just hope that west ham will get pumped at newcastle and we dont lose heavily vs Chelsea.

It helps me to think of a worst case scenario to take the anxiety down.

It really grinds me down how this just drags down to the last game.
I will need a long break from football after this.
I will watch the world cup from the quarters onwards I think.

The possibility of Relegation hasnt felt more real than now to me. I just want this season to be over.

At least we won't get relegated at the bridge.
That’s all the optimism I have left :mickyarm:

-Tottenham's last home league win was a 2-0 victory against Brentford on 6 December 2025
-Tottenham's last league win against Chelsea was a 2-0 victory on 26 February 2023 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Goals from Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane secured the three points for Spurs
has been over three years. Tottenham have not managed a single win in any competition against Chelsea since that 2-0 victory on 26 February 2023
:contehandshead:

That was our best hope of a win in the last 3 games imo.
We are now in the lap of the gods which we all know how it will end.
West ham are shite but I think they will get points in both games and with wins. They will keep things very tight and there end of match 'lump it long and cause chaos' game is pretty decent.

Us? I just cant anything at Stamford Bridge and the pressure at home on the last day v Everton will probably be too much for us to deal with.

Just let it be over already!

We decided we were too good for everyone else and deserved to be in a "Super League" despite having won two league cups in thirty years.
We were part of "Project Big Picture*, demanding the PL reduced to 18 teams so we could have more dates to play European fixtures - because we were always going to be in Europe and were obviously never going to get relegated.
We had a chairman who constantly tried to bully other clubs and move the goalposts on transfer deals.
We have fans who created a really negative home atmosphere until the last couple of months, because we didn't think the team needed our support to survive.
Overall, every aspect of our club acted in tandem with the so-called Big Six d not even having the trophies to justify that ego, and now we're in crisis, that's always going to be hilarious to everyone except us.
Good post!

Lots of reasons other fans want us to be relegated. As you say it must be hilarious for most clubs to see one of the so called big six falling so far.

But we still have control over our destiny.
