That's where my sister and I spent the afternoon before the parade in '81. It was packed and the song that reminds me of that day is 'Every little thing she does is magic' by The Police, as we sung 'Yiddos' instead of 'E-oh'.

We came out when the bus arrived at the Town Hall and we sat on top of the bus shelter across the road. Happy Days :)

That's a great story Mrs P.

That song should be used for one of our players today

"Every little thing he does is magic
Every little pass he makes is class
Every single goal he scores is classic
Kulu loves to kick some gooner ass"

Yidohoh Yidohoh Yidoho"

May need a bit of work. And sub it for any player you like..... 🤷‍♂️

This is why winning cups matters a whole lot more than many fans sadly these days now think. It creates lasting memories like this in such a way that a last-day 'top-four' finish or a runners-up finish cannot match for me.

The joy of the final itself is extended to another day where from the start of the day to the very end it's just one massive celebration where you can see the trophy being brought home by the day's heroes and there is no sad ending. It's the fitting conclusion.
(I love that song BTW, so I'm a little envious you can now also file it as a personal Spurs anthem :coys:)

I find songs very evocative, and I have quite a few that I relate to Spurs
- Bye Bye Baby by the Bay City Rollers reminds me of the Chelsea game when we sent them down
- You Can't Hurry Love by Phil Collins reminds me of a cup game against Notts County - if you know the video, the guys I travelled with did the little routine on the terraces.
- CSWY obviously The Finale
- Love me Again by John Newman just reminds me of the last seasons at WHL and the great football under Poch before it all went horribly wrong.
- DoWaDiddy by Manfred Mann was played in the minibus on the way home from the '91 final. Before the song was hijacked for Ritchie, we used to sing
"There she was just a walking down the street, singing
"I'm a yiddo, who the f*****" hell are you?" "
So many others, but I'll stop there, otherwise this post will take hours to read! ;)
