If any two matches exemplify how we feel about Woolwich, it's the NLDs from this season. We ground out two draws against a Woolwich team that went on to win the league and cup double. The first match was a 0-0 at Highbury where Woolwich completely dominated the game and we were down to 10 men after Edinburgh was sent off just before half time. The second was the return of Klinsmann and that inspired us to a 1-1 draw right off the back of a 4-1 hammering at Villa Park.

We might have lost 6-1 at home to Chelsea and 4-0 to Coventry but we did not lose to the scum. We made sure they only got two points from a possible six from us. Losing to Woolwich in this season would have been completely unbearable and we made sure it didn't happen.

I was there ! ; September 19th 1979 ; we were due to play Everton at home. Different times ….

# in the days before global warming.
Mate;

This is defo November 1969.

The match postponed was Everton. When it was played for a 2nd time the game was abandoned due to floodlight failure while Spurs were winning. When it finally got played we lost.

3rd time unlucky.

How Spursy.

I know this because it was the first Spurs game that should have been played in my lifetime. I was born a few days before the original postponement. The first game Spurs actually played in my lifetime became Coventry City away. The closest top flight ground to where I was born in Leamington Spa.

I believe this Coventry game was Jimmy Greaves last game in a Spurs shirt.

This country is mental at the best of times but I'm not having snow falling in what would have still technically been summer! Although I will concede that I think it was the 70s when the world was being gaslit over a coming ice age.

I have all three programmes, for each fixture against Everton, framed and on my wall at home.

A birthday present from my Spurs mad daughter who I inflicted with the same disease.

I thought it was the late 1960's. I remember turning up for a game and being disappointed to find out it had been postponed because of the snow. I had just turned 13. For some reason I was thinking it was against Man Utd.
At that time I always used to stand on the Shelf. But when I went to the first rearranged game, I thought I'd try the seats, I'd never been in the seats before. It was a big expense for a 13 year old, but it was a to be a one off experience. I sat in the Paxton Road stand behind the goal. The floodlights failed early into the second half, and after waiting ages the game was called off. The rule then was if a game was abandoned during play and the second half had started, you didn't get a refund or free entry to the rearranged game. It was a good while before I tried the seats again.
