Player Richarlison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Son should join him more centrally and encourage udogie to attack the flanks more while skipp covers.

Richarlison and Son together should be a lot more effective than either of them playing lone striker

There's something sort of un-Brazilian about Sonny's surge onto a through ball at a million miles an hour routine, I guess.

I think the extent of Sonny's play-making ability is to dribble into the box from the left and weave around defenders until the pass to Kane reveals itself......... Can never imagine him sliding Richy in.

On the flipside; most of my memories of Rich at Everton is being a bulldozer on the LW and riding his physicality for all it's worth into the box.... Can't really recall him being 'fed' by anyone other than getting a header on the end of a cross..... Can never imagine him sliding Sonny in.

It would make more sense for Rich to try and built a relationship with Kulu, but Rich being a left leaner, that seems unlikely.

It has all the makings of a conundrum to drive us insane

I fear Son is past it and Richy never had it. - and neither of them seem a good fit for Ange’s system. They were both mediocre to awful yesterday.

Maybe trying switching them up (Son to CF and Richy to LW) for a run of games and if that doesn’t work (which sadly I suspect it won’t) - Time for Solomon and Veliz - or whoever else Levy brings in before the window shuts.

The most he's ever scored in a single season is 13 premier League goals.

His shot accuracy is 33 percent

He has 49 goals in 201 appearances at an average of 9 goals a season -theres hoping he'll come good and there's praying for miracles.

He has 19 assists in 201 appearances.... 19!

There is nothing to suggest that he's suddenly going to become a 20+ goal a season player - but I really hope I'm wrong.

If Levy does not get another striker in after selling Kane then he is well and truly hanging Ange out to dry.
When he scored 13, did he takes pens?

At least we have youth and promise on the bench

Richy’s Open Play Goals + Pens in the EPL.

Can hopefully reverse the downward trend this season under Ange.

Year ——-Min. —- Goals —- Pens. — G+PK.
18/19 —2,665. ——13. ———0. ——- 13
19/20 —3,070. ——13. ———0. ——-13

Richarlison will not be playing against a 10 man defence every week.
He got into good positions today and I expect he will do again in future games and hopefully with a better outcome.

Hope you’re right as he didn’t look very happy and might be better on the wing with Sonny central?

I saw a few people on social media bringing up the amount of touches he had. But that's a total non issue.

Just go and look how many touches Kyogo had in games for Celtic last season. We didn't create many clear cut chances for him at all, if any.

He needs a run of games. We need to see what happens in games where we've created numerous chances for him and see if he's up to it.

I don't think this is right.

If anything feel like Son and Kulu need to stay wider and let Maddison & Skipp(Sarr) operate more centrally. Udogie and Royal/Porro overlap with the 8s.

Think Son and Kulu's inability/reluctance to take the ball to Brentford's endline and cross into the box a few times made it very easy for Brentford's defense. Despite his goal, Emerson doesn't offer anything going forward. He and Skipp took up the same positions and didn't cause any threats.

Despite all the possession, I thought the team was ponderous on the ball. We didn't see the quick one-two passing or runs trying to break Brentford's lines. This tells me there's still a lack in belief of how Ange wants to play and maybe a concern about being being caught on the counterattack.

He didn’t get much of the ball, but didn’t seem to move into space very often either. Lost count of the number of times we had the ball centrally, around 25-30 yards out and could’ve slipped a ball through to him, but he was always standing right next to a massive defender.

If we had a nippy wee bugger like Defoe up front, always on the cusp of offside, we’d score bucketloads.
That’s what Orban would give us.

In Ange's system, I think Richarlison is a CF or nothing.

The wide players need to be able to go past a player on the outside, something Son & Deki barely did on Sunday.

But Richarlison playing wide will almost never beat a defender on the outside. Instead, he will always be looking to cut inside & get into the box.

He is a physical presence, & will work hard. But the one decent chance he had on Sunday he fired chest height straight at the keeper, making it an easy save.

Kane would have fired it low, close to the ground, across the keeper inside the far post. The only other CF currently in our first squad who I would back to strike the ball low where keepers hate it, is young Dane Scarlett, whose finishing is modelled on training with & learning from Kane.
