Another inconsistent performer but must start on Saturday.

He's posted 11 goals in 16 games. He can be wearing clown shoes and use a McDonald's straw to blow it into the goal for all I care. He's been delivering of late and I can't see the point in getting rid of him right now. We do need someone to challenge him, ideally so we have some consistency when one of them's injured. His finishing is nowhere near world class. Not saying Toney's is either but he's defintely a more natural goal-scorer than Richarlison. I thnk he would be an ugrade, but how much of an upgrade is open for debate.
Richarlison's strength is that he can do a bit of everything. But he's the master of nothing.
hes got that competitive spirit and right now we badly need that. we look better when richarlison is on the pitch, not down to his quality with a ball but just through his hunger alone, it probably tells us how bad the others are when this becomes a huge reason to have richarlison. His finishing is nowhere near world class. TBF, it serves them right if they're rude enough to come round knocking without phoning first.Interested clubs : "We're interested in Richarlison"
Levy: " Absolutely , 58 mwillion and he's yours "
Interested clubs: "...................... good day, we 'll see ourselves out"
Levy : "don't forget to pay for parking and the cup of tea"

As much as I like him I do agree you can't turn down 60mil.. he's 2 yrs older and has 2 yrs fewer on his contract from when we bought him so have to accept such a bid.So everyone wants to keep him now? I thought we wanted to buy a new striker? I defended Richarlison for these past 2 years but getting back the £60m for him is a no-brainer.
That’s too much money to turn down for a player that everyone wanted replacing a few days ago
They will all get games with Ropey league marathon….So would I but Toney would give us a presence and knows the league. He wouldn’t need to settle in . We don’t have that with Richy or Sonny. They are easy to play against especially when teams sit in and there’s no space for them because they can’t play in tight spaces. They can’t link the play with clever touches and both have a touch like a set of railings when a defender goes tight with them.
Sonny and Richy would be subs at best for me next season. Would they accept that ??
You good sir are either on drugs, Richarlison himself using google translate or not a spurs fan - wtf are you talking about?Look at Richy's xG for first time finishing and compare to goals scored.. Tifo did a piece on this earlier this season, Richy is actually number 1 in the league for outperforming his xG for first time finishers. He has the best goals vs touches ratio of anyone in the league also. That is world class. And regarding his pressing check out his heat maps.. they are off the charts in terms of his defensive output .. very very underrated player
toney defo the better footballer. richarlison is literally a war dog, who when you flood the box with service he will get you goals. hes just not any good for buildup. hes a bit like haaland in the sense that if hes in a side that wants to dominate the ball you need to keep it away from him as much as you can until youre in the box.Toney scored 4 goals and assisted 2 so far in the league this season, having made his return in gameweek 21. Richarlison has scored 11 and assisted 4. Minutes played for Richarlison is 1428 and for Toney 1269. Richarlison is severely outperforming Toney.
Last season Toney scored 12 goals from open play and assisted 4 in 2953 minutes. Goals per minute, Richarlison has contributed about twice as much this season in g/a than Toney did in his best season ever. Of course it depends on the team you play in etc. but Toney's contribution seems overrated.
Toney is 28 years old. Doesn't seem like the best use of money. I'd rather see that we stick with Richarlison than going for Toney.
In the one period in the past two seasons that Richie has had a good run of games, with no injuries, he did very well, and banged in what, about 9 goals in 9 games or something? He is better than the numbers to date suggest b/c of the injuries. He's actually the only one of those below who I really think we should keep for 24-25
Son
Richie
Johnson
Werner
Kulu
Solomon

BJ is ok on the right and has showed potential.I’d keep Richy but only bc I think the winger positions are more important now. Kulu is done for us, Solomon who knows, Johnson only scores from a yard, and Werner can’t even score from there. We need a Mane or the next Son.
Yeah I agree with you and your comment about him being 'the master of none'. I was typing out-loud, so to speak, about how in-form he is and how it seems a bit mad to get rid of him right now (as a few recent articles seem to imply might happen).I never implied we should get rid of him though? He's fine as a squad player. But I can't ever seen him being the main man up top for any top club. I know he gets in the Brazil team but they have a major lack of top quality strikers.
