He was never that good, we'd just been watching Sissoko for 5 years. It made Bentancur look like Modric.
We also watched Conte ball where our entire team passively watched the other team pass it around for 90mins hoping they’d give us the ball so we could pass it to Emerson Royal and give it straight back. Bentancur was the only MF who ever looked like he wanted to press and get the ball back and he didn’t look like Hojberg when he did have the ball.
People don’t want you admit it but even as bad as Fulham was, we were starving in the desert for even half the number of passing moves we saw in that game under Conte. The difference is we’d have drawn it 0-0 instead of losing though.
I’m sure as each game passes he’s getting worse
It's a line sung for him when we thought he wasn't crap and thick.

Yea he's an ok 8 and a makeshift 6. Defensively oriented 8 with fairly limited passing range as far as CMs go. I think his best attributes are his defensive range, size and athleticism. Coupled with just decent enough ball skills this makes a very slightly above average central midfielder.
I think his best position is as a defensive, water-carrier 8 alongside a true CDM in a double-pivot- pretty much like he was at Juventus.
I'd honestly be surprised if Athletico want him- feels like they've got plenty of better CM talent already.

Not really interested in what he does for Uruguay in the same way that I wasn’t really too fussed when Lo Celso looked good for Argentina. If you can’t or won’t do it in a Spurs shirt questions need to be asked
Sissoko was better than Bentancur.
Sissoko was great for a season under Poch, a great ball carrier and always active. He was key for a French euros win and in the squad for a good bit after. He also helped us to a CL final.
He will have had a better career than Bentancur hands down. Sissoko all day long.

But lo celso did? Last season whenever he was given the chance he was brilliant. He was so creative and put in some incredible performances, the city game where he had 100% passing accuracy whilst creating 2 big chances and scoring a brilliant goal, the brighten game where he came on and tore them to shreds turning it around for us and getting us the win.
Too inconsistent and injury prone for us.i really wanted him to do well. A good player in the right league but too weak for the PL
