    Get involved!

Player Rodrigo Bentancur

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He scored the winning goal in that half. Also stepped into the space left when Micky fell over and stopped a goal.

I get that you hate Gray but he’s earned his starting role and has to be one of the first names on the team sheet for now
You made that comment before he scored. You stated the stats would show he was more involved than Bentancur then proceeded to basically say "ah who cares about the stats he was better" when it was the complete opposite of what you said it would be looool.

He and Bentancur were awful first half (with Bentancur improving second half). Well done on him scoring a set piece goal but if we are judging his midfield performance it was non existent again.

Earned his starting role loool my god.

I was wrong about the stats in the first half for sure. Still maintain he had a better first half than Bentancur.

But let’s be honest, we were pretty shit front to back tonight. I’m not crowing about Gray putting up a world class performance tonight. He was definitely the better of the 2 CMs imo

Bentancur is the physical manifestation of the Postecoglou era.

Had a good start, and middling since then, with people kind of hanging on to the idea that he might return to that early form

Overall, he's a worse player than Sissoko ever was for us. Needs to be moved on

Clearly lost a step with those major injuries. We won’t ever see that early form again. Needs to be sold.

What on earth is Bentancur. Can't defend, can't pass, can't attack. What the eff is his actual role? Offers sweet FA and is essentially a liability. Goddamn this squad needs some trimming and some spending

Every single one of my many Italian friends, most of whom are Juve fans, have told me he's one of the worst CM they can remember Juve playing.

He's slow, can't pass, can't score. He gives so many balls away they've lost count seasons ago already.

All said he's a terrible signing and they never expected a club like Spurs to sign him. Palace, Villa, even Newcastle...okay. But not Spurs. Now they're buzzing and saying Fabio is a hero.
Just reading a bit on this thread to see what people were saying when we signed him and saw this.

LOL.

I thought he was arguably our best player today - a few silly mistakes, but lots of great challenges and covering runs, as well as showing for the ball (begging for it at times) and taking responsibility, unlike most others. It's a shame he's not put in performances like today more often in the last year or so - I know his 'best' is way off 'world class', but if we saw performances like today's more often from him, we'd be a much better side than we have been recently. (Though of course we want to upgrade that position - I'm certainly not suggesting that we don't!)

youd think watching him hed be more suited to italy, yet modern day juventus were happy to let him go for basically peanuts in todays market...

in bentancurs defence, he shouldnt even be starting week in week out, we should have farrrr better players! billion pound stadium and pinning our midfield hopes on modern day juve rejects!

Agree. First half decent performance of the season
