I'm very rarely proud of myself
So, here's a guy that, according to SurrAlex, put in a transfer request. This was announced to the entire Old Trafford crowd and to millions watching on TV.

He's also missed pre season games and loads of training with supposed injuries. Another club has made two official bids for his transfer.

So, where is all the media buzz about him going? Why is this hardly reported on? Why aren't we being constantly bombarded with should he stay or should he go stories?

We, on the other hand, have a player that has also missed matches, hasn't been listed, there's been no official offers for him and he has the support of the manager, yet all media outlets seem convinced he's going.

WHAT THE FUCK????

mainly because the madrid cunts are probably paying the newspapers to keep printing bullshit and feed them nwith regular quotes from random cunts

lots of gooner and lolpool journos will want us to lose Bale because we're a bigger threat with him in the team

Some would argue that with an investment of circa £60m in new players, we may actually be a better team over the course of a season if we sold the Bale.

Would be less reliant on one guy to score massively important goals for sure.....

Because Bale is much hotter property right now and one of the most exciting prospects in world football, and I doubt many give a fuck about Rooney any more, since he already cried wolf few years back, only to get a new contract. So perhaps many are feeling the inevitable is soon going to happen. Again. Old news, etc.

Doesn't matter what's relevant - it's what sells papers and generates views that's important and right now Bale's name is trending heavily and would be for the next month. Plus he seems to be on every second billboard and just about everybody wants to have his face advertising their 'products'. Simple market mechanics, really.

Rooney's pic is/was the headline on SSN.com today - unlike Bale for the majority of last week, tbh

Rooney ain't the hot shit he used to be and Madrid keep the papers sweet.

Beyond the difference in quality, is this not the exact story that Joe Cole had going on before he signed for Liverpool? Should be coming into his prime, has had moments of genius, now needs to re-prove himself...signs for a new club to show the haters wrong.

Eventually returns to his boyhood club. Ended well, obviously. They beat us 2-1 at home. No last minute screamers. No nothing.

Oh wait.

He isn't the world's hottest property any more, but he has scored 76 goals in his past three seasons, increasingly whilst playing out of utility positions (even centre mid) and off the bench. So yeah, he's still elite and he's not going to do a Joe Cole.

some would argue that we've already bought 3 players who will definitley chip in with alot more goals

Bale is a £100m player. Rooney is a £30m player at best these days. There's the difference right there.

Plus, I think that Roonery has somewhat soured football with his wage/transfer tantrums, antagonism with Moyes and his general patheticness for England.

Found this :king:

Rooney was the first genuinely exciting player England had produced since gascoigne IMHO but it seems like the skill and flair was coached out of him. Yes he's still a great player with wonderful technique and work rate, but he hasn't turned out how I hoped he would when he first started playing for everton
